Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mid-Level Landscape Design Assistant to support our design team with project development, drafting, client presentations, material selections, and project coordination. The ideal candidate has a strong design eye, technical drafting experience, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively alongside the design team on multiple landscape projects
  • Assist with landscape design concepts and project development
  • Prepare planting plans, construction documents, and presentation materials
  • Create and revise drawings using AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and/or other design software
  • Conduct site research, measurements, and documentation
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, consultants, and clients
  • Assist with material and plant selections
  • Support project managers with scheduling, project tracking, and administrative tasks
  • Attend client meetings and occasional site visits
  • Comfortable working independently on-site for project layouts, field reviews, and coordination with clients and contractors
  • Help maintain organized project files and documentation

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in landscape design, landscape architecture, or a related field
  • Working knowledge of plants, plant materials, and basic horticulture
  • Degree or certification in Landscape Design, Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or related discipline preferred
  • Ability to prepare drawings in AutoCAD and communicate design ideas through hand sketches
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft
    Office
  • Strong understanding of plant materials, hardscape elements, and landscape construction basics
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong attention to detail and time management
  • Valid driver's license preferred

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with residential landscape projects
  • Knowledge of irrigation and outdoor lighting design
  • Rendering or 3D visualization experience
  • Familiarity with local plant palettes and zoning requirements
