Seasonal Housekeeper / Laundress (Tri-State Based)
Primary Locations: Southport, CT & Nantucket, MA
Home Base: New York Tri-State Area
Season: Late Spring through Early Fall (exact dates per family needs)
Schedule: Monday–Friday or Tuesday–Saturday; flexibility required
Accommodations: Live-Out (Tri-State) / Live-In provided during Nantucket stays
Travel: Primarily CT & Nantucket; Palm Beach travel optional and not required
Position Overview
A warm, refined couple is seeking a seasonal, senior-level Housekeeper/Laundress to support their homes in Southport, Connecticut and Nantucket, Massachusetts during the active season. This role is ideal for a Tri-State–based professional who excels in fine homes, maintains exceptionally high standards, and brings a calm, proactive, service-driven presence.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, discreet, and self-directed, with the ability to anticipate needs and maintain a home that is always guest-ready. A warm, easygoing personality and a team-player mindset are essential. Light pet care (feeding, walking the family dog) is part of the role.
This is a long-term seasonal opportunity for someone who enjoys returning to the same family each year and becoming a trusted part of their household rhythm.
Core Responsibilities
Laundry & Wardrobe Care
- Fabric identification and proper garment/linen care
- Household laundry: sorting, washing, stain treatment, folding
- Light pressing, steaming, and minor mending/alterations
- Heavy pressing of sheets, table linens, and napkins
- Seasonal wardrobe organization and rotation
- Managing dry cleaning pickups/drop-offs
- Maintaining inventory of linens, clothing, and laundry supplies
- Keeping laundry equipment clean and well maintained
Housekeeping
- Full-service housekeeping with meticulous attention to detail
- Vacuuming, mopping, and floor care
- Dusting surfaces, blinds, trim, and window ledges
- Hand-wiping fine wood furniture
- Deep cleaning based on weekly/monthly/seasonal schedules
- Bathroom and vanity cleaning and sanitizing
- Organization of closets, pantry, kitchen, garage, and outdoor areas
- Support with gatherings/events (setups, service, cleanup)

- Clean driver’s license
- Experience with special events: table settings, floral arrangements, serving, guest support
- Comfortable with seasonal travel between CT and Nantucket
- Open to live-in accommodations during Nantucket stays

- Can travel to Nantucket for extended seasonal stays (housing provided)
- Is flexible with schedule changes during peak season
- Is open — but not required — to occasional Palm Beach travel
