Household Manager / Housekeeper / Nanny

Location: Greenwich, CT
Compensation: $35–$65 per hour, paid vacations, paid select federal holidays DOE
Household: One child, elementary age; primary housekeepers and property management team on-site
Commitment Level: Full-time, live-out, long-term
Guaranteed Hours/Pay: 40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:45 AM – 6:00 PM, with flexibility
Nanny Vehicle: Provided by family while working
Start Date: ASAP

This is a combined role for someone who takes full ownership of running a home. Organization, proactive communication, and kindness are the three things that matter most here. During school hours the work is primarily household management and light housekeeping. Before and after school, and during school breaks, the role shifts to childcare. The family has a primary housekeeping team on site, so this is not a deep-cleaning position, but the right person happily rolls up their sleeves without being asked when something needs doing. We're looking for someone who is genuinely excellent with children, moves between both sides of the role on their own initiative, and wants a long-term position with one incredibly kind, warm, and generous family.

Responsibilities

Household management

• Maintain inventories and reorder household, kitchen, and paper goods before they run out
• Own the daily running of the home: standards, supplies, and readiness
• Handle returns, dry cleaning, tailoring, shipping, and errands
• Manage the household calendar, deliveries, and appointments
• Schedule and supervise outside vendors — cleaners, landscapers, repairs, service visits — and be present for access
• Track and flag maintenance issues before they become problems
• Seasonal work: closet rotation, storage, holiday and guest preparation

Housekeeping

• Daily tidying, kitchen management, child’s laundry, ironing, and linens
• Bed making and resetting bedrooms on housekeeping teams days off
• Care of finishes, fabrics, and delicate surfaces to a high standard
• Grocery shopping and light meal preparation for the family
• Keep the child's clothing organized, rotated by size and season, and put away

Childcare

• School pick-up as needed, and transport to activities, playdates, and appointments
• Homework support, bath, meals, and bedtime routine
• Active, engaged supervision — not passive monitoring. Play, conversation, reading, and outdoor time
• Plan and execute age-appropriate activities during breaks and school holidays
• Coordinate directly with school, activities, and other parents on logistics
• Full childcare coverage during school vacations and summer

Travel

• Travel with the family several times a year, domestic and international for trips
• Pack, organize, and manage logistics before and during travel
• Provide childcare and household support while traveling
• Must hold a valid passport or be able to obtain one

Pet care

• Feeding, walks, and outdoor breaks for one small dog

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years in a private household in a comparable combined role, with verifiable long-term references
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and comfort driving the family vehicle
• Legally authorized to work in the United States; will be employed on the books with taxes withheld
• Current CPR and pediatric first aid certification, or willingness to obtain before start
• Willing to complete a full background check, driving record check, and reference verification
• Strong written and verbal English
• Non-smoker
• Fully vaccinated per family policy
