This is a rare opportunity for an experienced, highly discreet and service-driven professional seeking a long-term position within a prestigious private residence.
The Position
The successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day management and operation of the residence whilst delivering first-class butler service to the Principals and their guests. The role combines traditional butler responsibilities with modern household management and requires impeccable organisational skills, discretion and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver formal and informal butler service to the Principals and their guests.
- Oversee the daily operation and presentation of the residence to the highest standards.
- Coordinate and supervise household employees and external contractors.
- Manage household schedules, maintenance and preventative servicing.
- Organise private events, dinners and guest hospitality.
- Maintain household inventories, purchasing and supplier relationships.
- Assist with wardrobe management, packing and unpacking when required.
- Arrange travel itineraries, restaurant reservations and lifestyle services.
- Ensure complete confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Anticipate the Principals’ needs and provide proactive, seamless service.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should possess:
- Previous experience as a Butler, House Manager or Estate Manager within a private household.
- Excellent organisational and leadership abilities.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- A polished, professional appearance and impeccable etiquette.
- A flexible, hands-on approach with exceptional attention to detail.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Absolute discretion, integrity and loyalty.
Essential Requirements
- Fluent German and English (spoken and written) are essential.
- A valid driving licence is preferred.
- EU passport or unrestricted right to work in Germany.
- Willingness to work flexibly according to the Principals’ requirements.
- Excellent references from previous private household positions.
The Opportunity
Our client offers an outstanding long-term career opportunity within a professional and respectful private household in Berlin.
The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary in the region of €90,000–€100,000 gross per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. Accommodation can also be provided, if required, making this an excellent opportunity for candidates relocating to Berlin or those seeking a live-in arrangement.
