A private farm and estate is seeking an experienced Executive Director to oversee daily operations, staff, property management, construction coordination, budgeting, and long-term operational systems. This is a senior leadership role for someone with strong experience in estate management, farm operations, construction management, or complex private property operations.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, discreet, and comfortable working closely with principals, executive leadership, staff, contractors, families, and guests. This person must be able to manage both the big picture and the daily details, while creating structure, accountability, and clear communication across the property.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily farm and estate operations, including staff, grounds, structures, contractors, maintenance, and property systems
  • Work closely with principals, COO, and CAO on the needs, vision, goals, and priorities of the farm and related entities
  • Lead farm staff and report directly to the Chief Operations Officer
  • Manage daily and weekly operations meetings
  • Communicate professionally with families and guests regarding visits and property-related needs
  • Implement and manage task tracking systems for projects, deadlines, accountability, and reporting
  • Oversee maintenance plans, replacement programs, grounds operations, and physical property standards
  • Lead construction and operational projects while providing timely progress updates
  • Manage contractors, documentation, NDAs, COIs, 1099s, and contractor database tracking
  • Support annual budgeting, budget monitoring, variance tracking, and reporting for affiliated entities
  • Create and maintain best practices for farm operations and estate management
  • Prioritize multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail

Qualifications:

  • Experience in estate management, farm operations, construction management, property management, or a related field
  • Prior leadership experience managing staff, contractors, vendors, and operational teams
  • Strong construction management or project management experience preferred
  • Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented
  • Strong communication skills and ability to report progress clearly
  • Comfortable working with principals, executives, families, guests, staff, and outside vendors
  • Ability to manage budgets, contractor documentation, reporting, and operational systems
  • Comfortable using or implementing task management software
  • Strong discretion, professionalism, judgment, and confidentiality
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision while also functioning well as part of a team
  • Hands-on, solutions-oriented, and comfortable in a private farm or estate environment

Compensation
$130,000 to $160,000 base for qualified candidates, with flexibility up to $200,000 for a highly experienced multi-property estate professional. Full package and relocation assistance available. Nationwide search.
