This young family with a large Estate in New Jersey is looking for a full-time Head Butler. The Butler would be provided housing on the property for the summer months in New Jersey and live out in Jupiter from October to May. This position is based on a 5-day, 50-hour work week, with Mondays and Tuesdays off, with flexibility required for events and holidays. The hours are generally 10 or 11 am - 9 pm when there is dinner service.
High-end formal service includes table settings, arranging place settings, and serving cocktails and gourmet dinners prepared by the Chef. Formal dinner parties for family. There is a second butler or additional wait staff brought in. This position oversees the care and maintenance of artwork, furnishings, China, and linens. Meticulous attention to detail in turn-down service and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and upkeep throughout the household.
Hiring, training, and overseeing the household staff, managing their schedules and ensuring smooth daily operations essential part of this operation. Teamwork here is everything. Welcome guests, introduce them to the home's amenities, and ensure a tailored experience throughout their stay. Feeding, walking, and scheduling grooming for the family dog are important. Wardrobe Management, including steaming, packing, and organizing closets and drawers. Creating and managing a dozen floral arrangements weekly enhances the aesthetic appeal of the dining room and the home in general.
Collaborate with the Estate Manager, the Principals, Yacht Captains, and Pilots to ensure seamless travel arrangements for the family. The family travels about 4 months of the year, and there is scheduling of drivers to and from airports and destinations.
Manage household expenses, staff expenditures, and invoice accuracy. Collaborate with the Family Office on all financial matters.
Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in a luxury estate household. Must be skilled in high-end formal service, household management, event planning, and guest relations. Proficiency with relevant software and technology. The family is seeking someone who can make a long-term commitment.
