Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Sous Chef / Line Cook / Meal Prep Support professional to assist a Private Chef in a high-end residential estate in Greenwich, CT for the Summer 2026 season, starting ideally mid-June through Labor Day Weekend. This role will support daily kitchen operations, including meal preparation, ingredient organization, and service execution, ensuring a seamless and elevated dining experience for an ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) family.

This is a hands-on position ideal for a culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment and is comfortable operating within a private household setting with the highest standards of discretion and service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Private Chef with daily meal preparation, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and occasional snacks or entertaining needs
  • Assist with ingredient prep, mise en place, and execution of meals to the Chef’s specifications
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment at all times
  • Assist with plating and presentation, ensuring meals are delivered to a high standard as needed 
  • Help manage kitchen inventory, including receiving deliveries, organizing storage, and rotating products
  • Support light provisioning, grocery runs, and ingredient sourcing as needed
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards
  • Adapt to changing menus, dietary preferences, and last-minute requests
  • Collaborate closely with the Private Chef and household staff to ensure smooth day-to-day operations

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Sous Chef, Line Cook, or Prep Cook in a professional kitchen or private household
  • Experience working in high-end, fast-paced environments, with exposure to elevated cuisine and presentation standards
  • Previous experience in a private home or UHNW setting is strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of kitchen operations, food preparation techniques, and organization
  • Ability to take direction, anticipate needs, and work efficiently independently as well as with estate staff 
  • High level of discretion, professionalism, and respect for privacy
  • Flexible and adaptable schedule, including evenings, weekends, and occasional extended hours; typical work week M-F with 30-40 hours per week
  • Culinary training or relevant certifications preferred, but not required
