Household Overview

This California-based family is seeking an experienced rotational nanny to join their established household team. The family has three elementary-aged children and is looking for a professional, organized, and engaging candidate who can confidently support both childcare and family assistant responsibilities within a fully staffed home environment.

The children attend school full-time during the day. During school hours, the nanny will assist with child-related household tasks, errands, organization, scheduling, and general family support. The ideal candidate enjoys working with school-aged children, can create engaging and educational activities, and understands how to balance being proactive while maintaining professional boundaries within the home.

The household operates with a collaborative team that includes an estate manager, housekeeping staff, chefs, maintenance staff, and additional nanny support. The family values professionalism, communication, flexibility, and strong organizational skills.

The family travels several times throughout the year, including trips within the U.S., the Caribbean, and Europe. The nanny should be comfortable traveling and adaptable to changing schedules and environments.

Ideal Candidate

This role is ideal for a career nanny with experience in fully staffed homes and a strong understanding of the needs of school-aged children. The family is seeking someone who is organized, observant, proactive, and able to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.

Candidates should be confident supporting daily routines, coordinating schedules and activities, maintaining organization in children’s spaces, and assisting with general household logistics. The ability to work collaboratively with other household staff and anticipate needs without requiring constant direction is important in this role.

An education background or prior classroom experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Childcare Responsibilities

• Supporting the children’s daily routines and development

• Planning age-appropriate activities

• Managing before- and after-school routines

• Coordinating activities and schedules

• Preparing meals and snacks for the children

• Organizing children’s spaces and belongings

• Traveling with the family as needed

• Providing occasional overnight care during rotation

Family Assistant Responsibilities

• Running errands and grocery shopping

• Light meal planning and preparation

• Vendor coordination

• Calendar and scheduling support

• Assisting with household organization and child-related logistics

Schedule

Full-time rotational schedule 7 days on, 7 days off, generally Friday through Thursday, with coverage typically between 7:00am and 8:00pm. Specific hours and scheduling will be communicated in advance. Flexibility for evenings, travel, and occasional overnight support is required.

Compensation & Benefits

The family is offering a competitive compensation package with an hourly and overtime structure equivalent to approximately $160,000+ annually, depending on experience. Higher compensation may be considered for candidates with extensive relevant experience.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of professional childcare experience

• Bachelor’s degree

• Valid driver’s license

• Willingness to relocate within three months if not currently local

• Minimum two-year commitment

• If not local, must be willing to relocate within 90 days of employment

• Proficiency with Google Workspace
