Private Household Chef & Culinary Manager

About the Role
This is a long-term opportunity for a highly skilled private chef who views food as one of the most important tools for health, longevity, family connection, and hospitality. We are seeking someone with very positive energy, who loves what they do, and understands the role of working at a private estate with other staff.
We need someone with a genuine heart for service who immediately takes care of anyone entering the kitchen. Greet them, ask if they are hungry or thirsty. A very positive and friendly chef whose instinct is to take care of people. We want someone who deeply cares about what they are serving and who is happy engaging the children in culinary activities.
We are seeking an exceptional Private Chef & Household Culinary Manager who is passionate about health, nutrition, hospitality, and service. This role is ideal for someone who genuinely cares about the impact food has on overall wellness and longevity while creating memorable dining experiences for a busy, active family.
The ideal candidate combines strong culinary talent with positive energy, professionalism, flexibility, and a service-oriented mindset. You should be equally comfortable preparing healthy family meals and weekly meal prep as you are executing elevated dinners, entertaining guests, and managing the culinary operations of a private household.
This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in sourcing the highest-quality ingredients, maintaining an impeccably organized kitchen, and becoming a trusted member of the household team.
We need someone who can transition from making basic healthy meal prep for a few people to a full chef experience with a house full of friends, guests, and kids.
You will report directly to the Estate Manager.
Schedule
Primary schedule is Friday through Tuesday, 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM, with a one-hour lunch break. Wednesdays and Thursdays are typically off.
When the family is traveling and chef services are not required during the trip, the schedule may be adjusted to a standard Monday–Friday workweek, provided all responsibilities are fulfilled.
Key Responsibilities
Meal Planning & Preparation
Prepare nutritious, flavorful breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks for the family.
4pm Crudite to be prepared daily and in constant rotation of seasonal ingredients.
Create rotating seasonal menus focused on longevity, wellness, and clean eating.
Prepare meals to be stored and eaten on your days off and fully stock fridges before you leave for your days off, ensuring healthy options are always available.
Monitor portion sizes and nutritional balance based on family goals.
Prepare and present dinner service each evening, typically at 6:15 PM.
Ensure breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and meal-prep options are available for the family throughout the week, including days your off.
Culinary Style
The family’s preferred style includes:
Mediterranean-inspired cuisine
High-protein, lower-carbohydrate meals
Whole-food, minimally processed ingredients
Fresh vegetables and nutrient-dense foods
Meals made from scratch whenever possible
The chef should also be capable of:
Preparing a selection of breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals that can be refrigerated and re-heated without comprimising taste or nutritional value.

Small private events and dinner parties
Children’s parties and family gatherings
Last-minute entertaining requests
Seamlessly transitioning between casual family meals and refined dining experiences
Household Culinary Management
Personally source and hand-select the highest-quality proteins, produce, and perishable ingredients.
Manage grocery purchasing, pantry organization, and food inventory.
Maintain household food and beverage stock levels.
Ensure freshness, quality, and proper rotation of all food items.
Manage food costs responsibly without compromising quality.
Develop systems and processes that keep the kitchen operating efficiently and seamlessly.
Kitchen Operations
Maintain exceptional cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen.
Handle meal-related cleanup and kitchen reset.
Manage food storage, refrigerator organization, and inventory rotation.
Remove expired products and maintain food safety standards.
Adhere to all food handling and sanitation requirements.
Take full ownership of kitchen presentation, organization, and daily readiness.
Household Integration
Prepare grab-and-go breakfasts and lunches for weekdays.
Set out afternoon snacks and crudités for the family.
Engage positively with four young children and occasionally involve them in age-appropriate culinary activities.
Maintain a flexible, positive attitude when schedules change or plans shift unexpectedly.
If meals are prepared and the family decides to dine out, package food for future use and adjust gracefully.
Contribute positively to the overall atmosphere of the home through professionalism, warmth, and reliability.
Downtime Responsibilities
When the family is away from the home during scheduled work hours, responsibilities may include:
Menu development
Grocery planning
Inventory management
Kitchen organization
Recipe testing
Vendor relationships
Stocking and preparation for upcoming meals and events
Travel
Occasional domestic and international travel may be requested, including:
Summer travel in Europe
Family ski trips
Extended vacations
Other family-related travel as needed
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Private Chef, Estate Chef, Executive Chef, Luxury Hospitality Chef, or similar role.
Strong understanding of nutrition, wellness, and longevity-focused cooking.
Experience creating healthy, balanced meals without sacrificing flavor, presentation, or creativity.
Experience serving high-net-worth families, executives, luxury hospitality guests, or similar clientele preferred.
Excellent organizational and household management skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Comfortable working in a private residence with children and household staff.
Strong communication skills and a positive, service-oriented attitude.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing schedules and family needs.
Food Safety Certification required.
Culinary degree or formal culinary training preferred.

Compensation
$120,000+ depending on experience
