Live-Out Housekeeper
This position will be Monday through Friday or Monday through Thursday. The family consists of a couple. The main focus of this role will be cleaning the home and making sure everything is tidy throughout the week. The ideal candidate is warm and friendly with a positive and proactive approach.
Schedule: Full-time, five days/week. Monday-Friday, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, with flexibility regarding the start and end time, also potential to work additional hours as needed.
Location: Cold Spring, Hudson Valley NY
Overview:
Family is looking for an experienced and energetic housekeeper. Candidates must be experienced working in a large house and be able to demonstrate skills in all aspects of household cleaning, laundry and be comfortable around large dogs. The family prefers someone who is organized, professional, discreet and highly trustworthy.
Prioritizing candidates who:
- Have been dedicated housekeepers (not hybrid nanny/housekeeper, etc.)
- Are comfortable with looking after large dogs
- Have worked with a single family for their most recent position.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Excellent verifiable references.
- Have experience in large, high-end homes, cleaning/maintaining fine furniture, fixtures & exotic surfaces
- 5 + years of experience working in private homes
- Ability to work weekends on occasions
Duties:
- Full-service housekeeping of main residence and cottage guest apartment, including but not limited to:
- Deep cleaning of high-end residence (including sanitizing kitchen and bathrooms)
- Vacuuming, dry/wet mopping, floor care, dusting, cleaning all surfaces (such as furniture, windows, trim etc.)
- Care for fine furniture and surfaces, art and valuable items
- Experience with cleaning artwork, china, silver, bronze, copper, marble etc.
- Family laundry & drycleaning
- Machine laundry of clothing, towels and bedlinens
- Ironing, pressing, steaming, folding and maintaining organization of closets
- Maintaining high standards of care and professionalism in household
- Walking the dogs (on the property) feeding them as needed
- Running errands as necessary, such as shopping for grocery.
Key Success Factors/Fit:
- Prefer someone who is professional, kind, friendly and honest
- Must be able to speak English
- Must have transportation to work and clean driving record
- Prefer someone who lives with 30 to 40 minutes of the home
Compensation and Benefits:
- $44.00/hour
- Year-end bonus based on performance
- Paid major holidays (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day)
