Position: Full-Time Rota Nanny / Family Assistant
Location: New York City (with summer travel to California)
Schedule: Rota-based (6 days on / 6 days off)

Position Overview
A dynamic, professional family in New York City is seeking an experienced Rota Nanny /
Family Assistant to join their existing childcare team. The family is in the process of adding
one additional Nanny / Family Assistant, which will create a two-nanny team supporting two
children. This role is intended to work collaboratively alongside the existing nanny and a very
hands-on parent, providing flexible childcare coverage while also assisting with family-assistant
responsibilities to ensure the household runs smoothly.
The children are older, active, and constantly on the move, and the mother is very hands-on and
involved. This position functions more as a family assistant role with childcare
responsibilities woven throughout the day.
Schedule & Rota Structure
On Week:
• 6 consecutive days
• Approximately 10 hours per day (overtime paid in accordance with NY laws)
Off Week:
• 6 consecutive days /Paid for 8 hours per day
• Required to remain locally available and able to respond within 3–4 hours between 8:00
AM – 4:00 PM Monday through Friday in the event of an emergency
Primary Responsibilities
Childcare & Family Support
• Assist with school pickups and drop-offs and transportation to after-school activities (Ice
skating, music classes, hockey, baseball, etc.)
• Navigate the city actively with the children (via scooters, subway, walking)
• Tag-team with mom throughout the day as needed
• Support transitions between activities and residences
Family Assistant Duties
• Laundry and dry-cleaning coordination
• Oversee and communicate with housekeepers
• Grocery shopping and kitchen fridge organization
• Assist with school logistics, scheduling, and athletic commitments
• Run errands and support daily household flow
Ideal Candidate Profile
• Experienced nanny or family assistant comfortable with older children and full-time
hands on Mom.
• Energetic, organized, and able to keep up with an active NYC lifestyle
• Comfortable navigating public transportation and city logistics
• Professional, responsible, and reliable
• Strong communicator who works well in a team environment
• Comfortable with a rota/on-call structure
• Comfortable with ever changing schedule. No 2 days are alike!
Requirements
• Valid driver’s license
• Fluent English
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Ability to travel with the family as need (summers and holidays in California)
• Excellent references
• Willingness to commit to long-term employment
You are a “domestic worker” as defined by New York law. Your duties may include small amounts
of light housekeeping, cooking, and other duties as assigned by the family, but under no
circumstances shall the housekeeping, cooking, and other requested duties comprise more than
60% of your duties each day.
