A professional, fully staffed private family in Tampa, Florida is seeking a highly qualified Educational Nanny / Governess to guide the academic, behavioral, and developmental growth of three elementary school-age children.

This is a permanent, long-term leadership role designed for a seasoned professional who blends the nurturing presence of an exceptional nanny with the structure, academic focus, and behavioral insight of a governess. The Educational Nanny / Governess will collaborate closely with parents and household staff to ensure a seamless, well-organized environment where the children consistently thrive.

Core Responsibilities

Educational & Developmental Leadership

  • Oversee academic progress, homework completion, tutoring coordination, and school communication
  • Reinforce productive routines, strong study habits, and positive behavior
  • Support intellectual curiosity, independence, and effective time management
  • Provide daily Spanish language immersion through fully fluent communication and instruction

Household & Team Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary educational childcare professional within a fully staffed household
  • Manage schedules, school calendars, extracurricular activities, and child-related logistics
  • Coordinate transportation to lessons, sports, and activities as appropriate
  • Partner collaboratively with parents and household team members to maintain consistency and structure

  • Model emotional regulation, respectful communication, and positive behavior
  • Travel with the family during summers, school breaks, and periodic stays at a secondary residence in Costa Rica, along with other destinations

Behavioral & Therapeutic Awareness

  • Implement thoughtful, consistent behavior-management strategies
  • RBT or similar behavioral therapy experience strongly preferred

Expected Schedule

The anticipated schedule is Monday through Saturday, with periodic weekend support and travel-related flexibility as needed. (Saturdays will be minimal but must have the flexibility/on-call as needed)

Because this is a dynamic, long-term private household role, the schedule may evolve over time in partnership with the selected candidate and the family’s needs.

  • Significant experience as a Governess, Educational Nanny, or comparable high-level role
  • True fluency in Spanish and English is mandatory
  • Demonstrated professionalism within staffed or high-expectation household environments
