Description

Executive Housekeeper for family with 2 teenagers

We are seeking an meticulous, highly organized, and proactive Executive Housekeeper to manage and maintain a luxury, high-end loft apartment. This role goes beyond standard surface cleaning; the ideal candidate will act as a steward of the home, taking total ownership of the space. The primary focus of this position is divided into three core pillars: expert-level laundry and wardrobe care, continuous organizational upkeep, and efficient daily errand management.

The successful candidate will have an eye for detail, a deep understanding of caring for luxury materials (fine fabrics, natural stone, custom finishes), and the ability to work independently to anticipate the needs of the household.

Core Responsibilities

1. Advanced Laundry & Wardrobe Care (Primary Focus)

  • Fabric Expertise: Manage all household laundry and personal wardrobe care, demonstrating expert knowledge of stain removal, sorting, and fabric care labels.
  • Luxury Garment Care: Hand-wash delicate items (silk, cashmere, lace) and properly prep luxury garments and formal wear for professional dry-cleaning.
  • Pressing & Steaming: Expertly iron and steam clothing, linens, and bedding to a crisp, hotel-quality standard.
  • Closet Management: Organize closets by season, color, or style. Ensure all garments are hung on appropriate hangers, shoes are polished/conditioned, and seasonal items are properly rotated and stored with moth protection.
  • Linen Rotation: Manage the rotation and care of high-end bed linens, towels, and table tablecloths.

2. Meticulous Organization & Loft Curation

  • Space Management: Maintain the minimalist, clutter-free aesthetic required of a luxury loft space. Implement and maintain smart organizational systems for closets, the pantry, kitchen cabinets, and storage areas.
  • Pantry & Inventory Control: Conduct weekly audits of household supplies, toiletries, and pantry staples. Create shopping lists and restock items before they run out.
  • Fine Surfaces Upkeep: Clean and maintain specialized loft materials (e.g., exposed brick, stainless steel appliances, marble countertops, industrial glass, and hardwood or polished concrete floors) using correct, non-abrasive products.
  • Deep Cleaning Coordination: Perform routine deep cleaning (inside appliances, baseboards, window tracks) and oversee specialized external vendors (e.g., window washers, HVAC technicians) when necessary.

3. Errand Running & Household Logistics

  • Daily Errands: Handle external errands including grocery shopping, dropping off/picking up dry cleaning, tailors, post office/FedEx runs, and prescription pickups.
  • Vendor Coordination: Receive packages, manage incoming mail, and wait for/coordinate home repair technicians or delivery personnel.
  • Meal Prep Assistance (Optional/As Needed): Unpack, wash, and prep fresh groceries. Organize the refrigerator and occasionally assist with basic meal assembly or prepping ingredients.
  • Travel Preparation: Assist the principal with packing and unpacking luggage for travel, ensuring clothes are wrinkle-free and travel toiletries are stocked.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as an Executive Housekeeper, Executive Assistant, or Head Laundress in a high-end private residence or luxury boutique hotel.
  • Laundry Mastery: Exceptional skills in ironing, steaming, clothing care, and understanding luxury fashion materials.
  • Organizational Prowess: A natural passion for sorting, decluttering, and creating visually appealing, functional storage spaces.
  • Management of dedicated cleaning employee on site 3 days per week.
  • Discretion & Trustworthiness: Absolute commitment to confidentiality, privacy, and maintaining boundaries within a private home.
  • Tech Savvy: Ability to communicate efficiently via text/email, manage digital shopping lists (Instacart, Amazon), and coordinate schedules.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 30 lbs, climb stairs, and stand/walk for extended period.
