Chief Stewardess (Rotational Land & Sea Role)
Newport, Rhode Island | New England-Based with National & Caribbean Travel
We are seeking a highly polished, formally trained Chief Stewardess to lead interior operations aboard a 40-meter private yacht, while also supporting multiple ultra-high-end residences, including a 40,000 sq. ft. estate in Newport, Rhode Island. This is a unique hybrid role requiring exceptional service standards, leadership, and operational oversight across both maritime and residential environments.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned yachting professional with a white-glove service background, a strong command of formal hospitality, and proven experience managing and mentoring a team in a fast-paced, UHNW setting.
Key Responsibilities
Interior & Service Leadership
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of 4 stewardesses, maintaining impeccable service standards at all times
- Deliver and oversee formal table service, including white-glove dining, wine presentation, and cigar service
- Ensure a seamless, elevated guest experience both onboard and within private residences
Yacht Operations
- Maintain full responsibility for interior operations aboard a 40-meter yacht
- Develop, implement, and maintain detailed SOPs and the vessel’s “Yacht Bible”
- Oversee provisioning, inventory management, and interior readiness
- Coordinate with the Captain, Chef, and crew to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
Estate & Household Support
- Provide service and operational support at a 40,000 sq. ft. Newport estate and additional properties nationally
- Train and lead household staff to ensure consistency in service standards across all residences
- Coordinate with vendors, manage service logistics, and oversee property readiness for arrivals and events
Inventory, Budget & Logistics
- Maintain and track inventories across multiple locations, including Caribbean-based operations
- Manage departmental budgets with a high level of accountability and discretion
- Leverage existing Caribbean vendor and provisioning connections (highly preferred)
Qualifications & Requirements
- Formal training in hospitality or luxury service (silver service / butler training preferred)
- Extensive experience as a Chief Stewardess or senior interior crew on a similar-sized yacht
- Demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing and developing staff
- Strong knowledge of fine dining service, wine, and cigar presentation
- Highly organized with experience creating SOPs and managing complex operations
- Fluent in English; Spanish is highly desirable
- Professional, discreet, and service-driven with a “no task too small” mindset
- Ability to travel frequently and provide 24/7 service support as needed
- Long-term commitment mindset with a returning, high-expectation principal
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary starting at $180,000+, commensurate with experience
