Professional, Organized, and Proactive Live-In or Live-Out Nanny/Family Assistant Needed for a Busy Family in Portland, ME
A warm and active family in Portland, ME is seeking a full-time live-in or live-out Nanny/Family Assistant to care for their two children, ages 5 and 7. This is a hands-on, high-engagement role that spans both dedicated childcare and genuine household support. On the childcare side, the Nanny will handle school drop-off and pickup, transportation to extracurricular activities, and afternoons filled with developmentally appropriate activities, healthy meal and snack preparation, and helping to research and coordinate camps and enrichment opportunities. On the household side, responsibilities include managing family laundry, keeping the kitchen clean and organized, loading and unloading the dishwasher, making beds, receiving and breaking down packages, maintaining household inventory and restocking as needed, and tackling organization projects throughout the home. This is not a role where the household duties are an afterthought. The family is looking for someone who takes genuine ownership of both sides of the position and finds satisfaction in a home that runs well.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional who has built a career working in private homes in a hybrid Nanny/Family Assistant capacity and is equally excited about childcare as they are maintaining a smooth household. Location: Portland, ME
Schedule: 45 guaranteed hours per week with exact schedule confirmed a month in advance.
Start: ASAP, flexible for the right candidate

Compensation: $30-$35+ per hour, taxes withheld, paid vacation, paid sick time, paid holidays, and a health stipend
Requirements:
- 5+ years of Nanny/Family Assistant experience
- A clean criminal record
- A valid driver's license and good driving record
- CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to obtain before hire)
- Non-smoker
Pets: 1 puppy
Driving/Parking: Required, must have reliable transportation to get to and from the house, ample street parking available. Vehicle provided for work-related drives. Travel: Potentially, but not required
Additional Information: Family has weekly housecleaners so no deep cleaning involved.
