Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) Financial Controller to oversee the financial management and reporting for a prominent UHNW individual & family office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, accounting, and legal matters, specifically within the context of Florida's & California's regulatory environment. This role requires a high level of discretion, professionalism, and the ability to manage & develop complex financial structures.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management and Reporting:

    • Oversee and manage all financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
    • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards.
    • Develop and implement financial strategies to optimize cash flow, investments, and overall financial performance.
    • Coordinate with external auditors and financial institutions to ensure timely and accurate financial audits.

Accounting Oversight:

    • Manage and supervise the accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions.
    • Review and approve all accounting entries, reconciliations, and financial reports.
    • Implement and maintain internal controls and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.

Legal and Regulatory Compliance:

    • Provide guidance on legal and regulatory matters related to financial operations, including tax planning and compliance with Florida & California state laws.
    • Coordinate with legal counsel on matters such as estate planning, trusts, all business entities, and other legal structures affecting the UHNW individual or family office.
    • Stay abreast of changes in Floriday & California state regulations and ensure financial practices are updated accordingly.

Investment Oversight:

    • Monitor and manage investment portfolios, including real estate, equities, and alternative investments.
    • Work with investment advisors to develop strategies and evaluate investment opportunities.
    • Analyze financial performance and risk associated with various investment options.

Financial Planning:

    • Develop long-term financial plans and strategies to meet the UHNW individual's or family office's goals and objectives.
    • Conduct financial analysis and modeling to support decision-making and strategic planning.
    • Consistent tracking of all business entites growth & development.
    • Consistent tracking of all personal & property spending to develop realistic budgets with the Chief Of Staff.

Administrative and Reporting Duties:

    • Prepare reports and presentations for UHNW individuals or family members, providing insights into financial performance and strategic initiatives.
    • Manage and oversee financial documentation and all record-keeping.
    • Work on backdating spend with Chief Of Staff to curate accurate tracking year over year.

Travel and Meetings:

    • Travel to Northern California for meetings and engagements as required.
    • Maintain flexibility to accommodate minimal travel and on-site visits.
    • Must be able to operate on EST & Occasionally on PST.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in financial management, with significant experience working with UHNW individuals or family offices. Legal experience or knowledge of Floriday & California state regulations is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and investment management.
    • Expertise in Floriday & California tax laws and legal compliance.
    • Proficient in financial software and tools, including advanced Excel skills.
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
    • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
    • Ability to create high level executive summaries to ensure UHNW client's can take in all information with ease.
