Full-Time Housekeeper/Laundress – Upper Manhattan, NYC (Live-Out)
A private family in Upper Manhattan is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Full-Time Housekeeper/Laundress to maintain their residence to a high standard. The ideal candidate will have strong, long-term experience working in private households, excellent laundry and garment-care skills, and a proactive approach to keeping the home clean, organized, and running smoothly.
Schedule: Monday through Friday. Flexibility is required based on the family’s needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Full-charge housekeeping and detailed cleaning throughout the residence
- Daily tidying and maintaining an organized, polished home
- Laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and proper garment care
- Ironing and steaming clothing and household linens
- Changing and laundering bed linens and towels
- Organizing closets, drawers, and household spaces
- Maintaining the kitchen, including cleaning surfaces and appliances
- Loading and unloading the dishwasher
- Monitoring household and cleaning supplies
- Caring appropriately for fine furnishings, surfaces, and household items
- Occasional household errands or additional tasks as needed
- Working collaboratively with the family and any additional household staff
Qualifications:
- Strong, long-term experience as a Housekeeper/Laundress in private residences
- Demonstrated longevity with previous private household employers
- Excellent knowledge of laundry, ironing, steaming, and garment care
- Strong attention to detail and high cleaning standards
- Organized, proactive, and able to manage responsibilities independently
- Professional, discreet, trustworthy, and respectful of family privacy
- Flexible and willing to assist wherever needed
- Excellent references from previous private household employers
