About Maddy's

Maddy's is a new restaurant and café opening in the heart of Incline Village on the north shore of Lake Tahoe. Housed in a beautifully restored building, Maddy's brings two distinct programs under one roof: a dinner-focused restaurant and an all-day café and bakery. We open in late 2026.

This is a single-investor passion project — a meaningful, long-horizon investment in Incline Village by an owner who lives in the community and wants to give in a lasting way. It is not a stepping-stone concept, not a roll-up, and not the first of a planned chain. It is one restaurant, built carefully, intended to become a permanent part of the fabric of this town.

The Cuisine

Rooted in Eastern Mediterranean and Israeli cooking, with influences from across the broader Levant — Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, North Africa, and Persia. Mezze-style sharing plates, fire and grill, fresh herbs, smoke and char, generous seasonal vegetables. Tel Aviv café culture meets an alpine Tahoe setting.

Restaurant: Composed plates from the grill and hearth. Mezze and shareable dishes built around house-made flatbreads.

Café: All-day breakfast, lunch, and bakery. A serious wellness section for the ski-outdoor crowd. A pastry case with rotating viennoiserie and signature items — juniper-spiced cinnamon rolls with Tahoe honey, wild blueberry buttermilk doughnuts, savory phyllo pies. Grab-and-go for guests heading up the mountain.

Sourcing is central: local Sierra producers, Little Red House Farm eggs, Tahoe honey, market-driven menus that reflect the actual region.

The Role

The Executive Chef owns the food program at Maddy's end-to-end and reports directly to the owner. Responsibilities include:

  • Full creative ownership of both menus, evolving them seasonally
  • Building and leading the entire back-of-house team — hiring, training, scheduling, and culture-setting
  • Daily kitchen operations across both the restaurant and café programs
  • P&L responsibility for the kitchen including food cost and labor
  • Vendor and farm relationships with regional producers
  • Health, safety, and regulatory compliance
  • Working closely with FOH leadership to deliver a unified guest experience
  • Representing Maddy's in the Incline Village community as a visible, engaged member of the town

The Community Commitment

Maddy's is being built around a conviction that a great restaurant doesn't just serve a community — it becomes part of one. The Executive Chef we are looking for understands instinctively the difference between service and hospitality. Service is competent and efficient. Hospitality is something deeper — making people feel genuinely seen, welcomed, and cared for. At Maddy's that philosophy extends beyond the dining room and into the fabric of the town itself.

This means showing up — at the farmers market, at school events, on the mountain, in the coffee line. It means building a real relationship with the Incline High School culinary program, not as a publicity gesture but as a genuine investment in the next generation of cooks coming out of this valley. It means being someone the community feels ownership over, and who feels ownership over the community in return.

Who We Are Looking For

Background:

  • Fine dining experience in respected kitchens with strong fundamentals and technique
  • Genuine depth in Eastern Mediterranean, Levantine, or Israeli cooking — this is not a cuisine to learn on the job
  • Bakery and viennoiserie experience, or a clear and credible plan to partner with someone who has it
  • Experience leading a kitchen team; opening experience a strong plus
  • A health-conscious sensibility in your cooking

Character:

  • Excited to live in Incline Village full-time — a mountain town, not a city
  • Outdoorsy: skiing, hiking, paddling, biking, fishing — whatever your version
  • Looking to put down roots, not pass through
  • Calm, grounded, generous — brilliant chefs who run brutal kitchens are not the right fit
  • Genuinely interested in being part of a community

A Note on Our Candidate Pool

We are drawing from destination restaurants around the world and from the yacht industry, where chefs operate at the highest level in dynamic, ever-changing environments, pivoting menus, guests, and logistics with creativity and calm. That adaptability translates directly to what Maddy's requires. What we offer in return is something those worlds rarely provide: roots. A kitchen you can build over years, not seasons. One of the most extraordinary natural settings in the country to live your life in.

If that exchange genuinely excites you, we'd like to hear from you.

What We Offer

  • $120,000 – $160,000 DOE
  • Full benefits: health, dental, vision
  • Paid time off
  • Relocation support
  • Real creative latitude with a fully resourced opening
  • A life in one of the most beautiful places in the country

Start Date: Mid-July 2026
