Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Insurance Specialist to support a private trust company. This role is ideal for a professional with strong personal lines insurance expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working with senior stakeholders.

Working alongside a team of paralegals as a key member of the Legal team, you will partner closely with the General Counsel and play a key role in personal lines property & casualty insurance program management, risk mitigation, and legal support across corporate, trust, and real estate matters.

Key Responsibilities

Personal Insurance (Primary Focus)

  • Manage and optimize personal lines property & casualty insurance programs (property, liability, auto, marine, valuable articles)
  • Lead renewals, claims, and policy administration
  • Analyze coverage, identify gaps, and provide clear recommendations to clients and advisors
  • Oversee risk mitigation and compliance with carrier requirements
  • Coordinate directly with brokers, carriers, and vendors, supporting negotiations and claims resolution
  • Review premiums and manage invoice/payment coordination

Administrative Support

  • Along with paralegal team, support the General Counsel across contracts, governance, trusts, and real estate matters as needed
  • Draft and manage vendor agreements and legal documentation
  • Track multiple matters, deadlines, and workflows across stakeholders
  • Maintain corporate records for LLCs, foundations, and trusts
  • Coordinate with clients, advisors, and outside counsel to execute and manage legal processes
  • Ensure accurate, confidential records management

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with insurance coverage and claims particularly with property & casualty (P&C) with the ability to assess coverage and manage claims end-to-end
  • Paralegal knowledge in (personal lines) insurance, corporate, real estate, trusts, or family office environments is preferred
  • Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and deliver under pressure
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills across all levels of stakeholders
  • High attention to detail, discretion, and integrity
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal/administrative systems
