Private Family Nanny & Family Assistant

Schedule: Approximately 20 rotating 12-hour shifts per month, including weekends and holidays as part of the rotation.
About Our Family
We’re a young family looking for an exceptional Private Family Nanny & Family Assistant to join our long-term household team.We currently have a 3-month-old daughter and are expecting a newborn son in the coming months. We’re looking for someone who genuinely loves caring for infants and who also enjoys creating a calm, organized, beautifully run home.This is not a traditional nanny position. We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, notices the little things, and enjoys making life easier for the family. We value professionalism, warmth, discretion, reliability, and a genuine commitment to excellence.If you’re someone who naturally sees what needs to be done without waiting to be asked, we’d love to meet you.
What You’ll Do
Childcare
- Provide exceptional, loving care for our infant children.
- Follow feeding, sleep, developmental, and medical routines.
- Support age-appropriate development through reading, tummy time, music, sensory activities, outdoor walks (weather permitting), and interactive play.
- Maintain daily logs and communicate clearly during caregiver handoffs.
- Prioritize safety and exercise excellent judgment at all times.
Family Assistant Responsibilities
When the children are sleeping or independently resting, responsibilities transition toward maintaining an organized environment that supports the family.Responsibilities include:
- Keep the nursery and children’s bedrooms immaculate.
- Wash, sterilize, and organize bottles and feeding supplies.
- Complete children’s laundry and neatly organize clothing.
- Rotate clothing sizes and organize closets.
- Restock diaper stations and nursery supplies.
- Organize toys, books, and baby equipment throughout the day.
- Prepare diaper bags for outings.
- Monitor inventory of diapers, wipes, formula, medications, and children’s supplies.
- Help maintain the children’s play areas and common spaces in a clean, organized, guest-ready condition.
- The family has two friendly dogs. While this is not a pet care position, we ask that you help keep the dogs’ toys and designated areas tidy and pick up after the dogs as needed to maintain a clean environment.
- Work collaboratively with our full-time housekeeper and other household staff. This is not a deep-cleaning role; however, everyone on the household team is expected to contribute to maintaining an organized, orderly, and well-run home.
- Leave each shift with children’s spaces fully reset and ready for the next caregiver.

Technology & Phone Policy
The children deserve your full attention while they are awake.
- No personal phone use while a child is awake or while holding, feeding, or actively caring for a child, except in the event of an emergency.
- Personal phone conversations should not take place inside the home while on duty except in an emergency.
- Earbuds, headphones, FaceTime, streaming videos, podcasts, or other personal media are not permitted while supervising the children.
- Personal phone use should be limited to scheduled breaks or when the children are safely asleep and all assigned responsibilities have been completed.
Physical Requirements
This is an active role requiring the ability to:
- Safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and get on and off the floor throughout the day.
- Push strollers, carry car seats, and perform the physical responsibilities associated with caring for infants.
Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who has:
- A minimum of 5 years of professional nanny experience.
- Extensive experience caring for infants and newborns.
- Experience caring for multiple young children is preferred.
- Experience working in a private home is strongly preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before starting).
- Outstanding professional references.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are preferred.
