Full-Time Houseman / Housekeeper & Assistant Driver | Suffolk County, New York

A private family in Suffolk County is seeking a hardworking, meticulous, and service-oriented Houseman / Housekeeper & Assistant Driver to join their long-standing household team. This is a full-time, hands-on position within a fully staffed private estate, with responsibilities spanning detailed housekeeping, property upkeep, household support, and occasional driving.

The household operates with a collaborative, all-hands-on-deck mentality, so flexibility and a willingness to pitch in wherever needed are essential. Schedule

• Monday through Friday, approximately 40 hours per week.
• Weekend work is shared amongst other employees in a similar position.
• Flexibility is important based on the family's schedule and needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed housekeeping and cleaning throughout the residence, working alongside the family's existing housekeeper and household team.
• Assist with both indoor and outdoor cleaning and upkeep across the property's residences and amenity spaces.
• Maintain a meticulous standard of cleanliness and presentation throughout the property.
• Assist with laundry and general household organization as needed.
• Handle household and property-related errands, pickups, deliveries, and other day-to-day needs.
• Provide backup driving coverage when the family's primary driver is unavailable.
• Safely and professionally transport family members locally and, on occasion, to and from Manhattan.
• Periodically assist with upkeep and light cleaning at the family's Manhattan residences.
• Assist with light gardening and outdoor projects, including weeding, potting plants, and general property upkeep.
• Help maintain outdoor living and recreational areas, including the pool, spas, tennis court, pond, and surrounding spaces.
• Assist with light maintenance and minor household or property projects that can be handled internally.
• Provide occasional assistance to the Chef in the kitchen, including dishes, cleanup, and other support as needed.
• Assist other household staff and fill in across functions when additional support is needed.
• Lift, carry, and move household items, supplies, and equipment as required.
• Anticipate household needs and identify tasks that need attention without requiring constant direction.
• Complete additional household and property-related responsibilities as needed.

• Hands-on and comfortable moving between housekeeping, driving, gardening, light maintenance, kitchen support, and general estate responsibilities.
• Professional and service-oriented, with an understanding of the standards and discretion required in a private household.
• Comfortable working quietly and unobtrusively around the principals and their guests while completing responsibilities efficiently.
• Collaborative and happy to work as part of a fully staffed household where everyone pitches in as needed.
• Flexible and adaptable as priorities shift throughout the day.
• Confident and responsible driver with a clean driving record.
• Comfortable driving large SUVs and driving into Manhattan when required.
• Willing and able to comply with the household's fragrance-free requirements while working and driving, including restrictions on scented personal-care products.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
• This is a smoke-free household, and smoking or vaping is not permitted during working hours or on the family’s property.

Compensation & Benefits

• $35–$45/hr gross, depending on experience, with overtime paid in accordance with applicable federal and state law.
