Part-Time Housekeeper

Location: Berkeley, CA
Schedule: Friday–Sunday, approximately 10:00 AM–6:30 PM (Firm)
Position: Part-Time

A private household in Berkeley is seeking an experienced, hands-on Housekeeper to help maintain and organize a 6,000-square-foot residence. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, flexible, service-minded, and comfortable working collaboratively with the primary Housekeeper and other household staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed housekeeping and deep cleaning throughout the residence
• Maintain outdoor patios, porch, greenhouse, garage, and storage areas
• Manage laundry, linens, towels, and personal clothing
• Coordinate dry cleaning
• Make beds and change linens as needed
• Organize the home and maintain household inventories
• Purchase household supplies and run errands
• Water indoor and outdoor plants
• Feed and care for two dogs and one gecko
• Coordinate veterinary and grooming appointments
• Clean household vehicles as needed
• Assist with packing and unpacking for travel
• Wrap gifts, mail packages, organize mail, and receive/open deliveries
• Manage garbage, recycling, and boxes
• Hand wash fine china and crystal and polish silver
• Coordinate maintenance and repair needs with household staff
• Assist with special projects and additional household needs

Qualifications

• Previous professional housekeeping experience
• Strong cleaning, laundry, and organizational skills
• Comfortable caring for fine china, crystal, silver, and household items
• Proactive, hands-on, and willing to assist wherever needed
• Detail-oriented and receptive to feedback
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow household preferences
• Collaborative and comfortable working with other household staff
• Comfortable caring for dogs and other pets
• Discreet, dependable, and service-oriented
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for errands
• Non-smoker
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Able to successfully complete a background check
