Job Description: Full-Time, Housekeeper/Laundress
Schedule: Monday - Friday or Tuesday - Saturday; ultimate flexibility to accommodate family as needed
Accommodations: Live-Out or Live-In
Location: Palm Beach, Florida
Travel: Would prefer a candidate that is flexible to travel to Southport, CT and Nantucket over the summer
Overview:
A delightful Palm Beach couple is seeking an experienced Housekeeper with top-notch Laundress skills. The candidate must have an exceptional eye for detail and must be experienced working in a fine home. The Client prefers someone who is proactive, attentive, has excellent organizational skills, takes pride in their work, is dedicated, conscientious, and has an easy-going personality. Candidate must take initiative, practice professional boundaries, and can anticipate the needs of their employer. The expectations for quality service and efficiency are high, to maintain the home to be always guest ready. A positive, pleasant, team-player, willing to please type of personality would do well here. The couple has a family dog, that will need to be cared for (feeding, walking) This is a great position for someone looking for a long-term opportunity!
Duties:
- Identifying fabrics and proper care
- Organizing, separating, and washing all household laundry and linens
- Light pressing, steaming, and mending or alterations of clothing
- Heavy pressing (sheets, table clothes, napkins)
- Organizing the client’s wardrobe (seasonally)
- Folding and storing clothing and household linens
- Sorting and sending items for dry cleaning, as needed
- Maintaining inventory of clothing and linens
- Performing spot removal or arranging for professional cleaning
- Maintaining supplies in the laundry room
- Keeping laundry equipment clean and well-maintain
Full-service housekeeping, including but not limited to:
- Vacuuming, dry/wet mopping, and floor care
- Implement and oversee weekly/monthly/quarterly/yearly-cleaning schedule needed to maintain high standards of the home
- Dusting all surfaces, furniture, blinds, window ledges, trim
- Hand-wiping wood furniture
- Disinfecting and cleaning bathrooms and vanities
- Organizing the home as required (closets, pantry, kitchen, garage, outdoor area, etc.)
- Flexible to assist with gatherings/events as needed

- A senior level Housekeeper who can take direction and be flexible
- Highly detail oriented and self-directed
- Adaptable, flexible, and ready to take on new responsibilities when asked
- True service mind, one who places the needs of the family foremost
- Well-groomed and physically able to perform the duties of the position
- Must be able to read and write English
- Must have clean driver’s license
- Trustworthy and good work ethic, especially when the client is not in residence
- Experience assisting with special events: table settings, floral arrangements, serving, welcome guests, etc.
- Flexible to travel with family as needed
- Couple would consider a candidate that is open to live-in
