Full-Time Housekeeper / Laundress
Location: Sarasota, FL
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Compensation: $35–$40/hour, depending on experience
Benefits: $300/month healthcare stipend, 10 days PTO, paid holidays
Travel: Occasional travel as needed
A private family in Sarasota, FL is seeking an experienced, proactive, and detail-oriented Full-Time Housekeeper / Laundress to support the daily care and organization of their residence. The ideal candidate will have experience working in high-end private homes or luxury hospitality environments and will take genuine pride in maintaining a beautifully kept, organized, and guest-ready home.
This position requires someone who is highly proactive and able to work independently while also taking direction well and understanding when to seek approval before proceeding with certain household tasks. The family maintains high standards but offers a warm, respectful, and approachable working environment. The successful candidate will maintain professionalism, consistency, and a strong work ethic while becoming a trusted long-term member of the household team.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily housekeeping, tidying, and organization throughout the residence
- Maintain the home to consistently high standards of cleanliness and presentation
- Manage household laundry and garment care, including sorting by fabric and care requirements, stain identification, washing, drying, steaming, and ironing
- Organize wardrobes and identify garments requiring professional dry cleaning
- Assist with packing and unpacking for family travel
- Maintain household and travel checklists
- Stock and organize household supplies, beverages, and cleaning products
- Identify stains, damage, maintenance concerns, or other household issues and communicate with the principals before proceeding when approval is appropriate
- Provide light pet care for household pets, including dogs, cats, fish, and turtles
- Assist with household preparation before and after family travel
- Assist with dinner or event preparation as needed
- Coordinate appropriately with outside cleaning professionals who assist with deeper household cleaning
- Maintain tidy entryways, common areas, and other frequently used spaces
- Assist with additional household tasks outside of traditional housekeeping as needed
- Work collaboratively with other household staff and outside service providers
- Travel with the family occasionally as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of professional housekeeping experience in a high-end private residence or luxury hospitality environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of laundry and garment care
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Proactive and able to anticipate household needs
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
- Able to take direction and communicate effectively with principals
- Good judgment and an understanding of when approval should be obtained before completing certain tasks
- Comfortable working around young children and household pets
- Packing and unpacking experience preferred; willingness to learn is also welcomed
- Tech-comfortable and able to follow household systems and checklists
- Professional, discreet, trustworthy, and respectful of household privacy
- Flexible and willing to assist beyond traditional housekeeping responsibilities
- Team-oriented with a positive and approachable demeanor
- Willing to travel occasionally as needed
- Must provide verifiable professional references and successfully complete a background check
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
