Job Description:
A private household is looking for an Executive Housekeeper to step into a role that's been held with real care for twenty-three years. The outgoing housekeeper is easing into retirement, and this family wants to find someone who can build that same kind of trust - not just fill a checklist.
The position is live-out and moves between two homes one mile apart: the primary residence (approximately 4,500 sq ft), and the home of the household head's adult daughter, son-in-law, and their new baby (approximately 2,500 sq ft). Both homes are comfortable and lived-in rather than formal or showy.
This is a household led by a semi-retired attorney with a great sense of humor and zero interest in pretense - the kind of person who wants someone easy to be around, unbothered by a joke, and genuinely warm. Two easygoing dogs (a schnauzer and a non-shedding rescue) round out the primary residence, and three senior rescue pets are at the daughter's home.
Your days would include light housekeeping - vacuuming, dusting, dishes - along with an ongoing laundry rotation. You'd prepare a hot dinner most evenings and breakfast in the mornings, simple and hearty rather than fancy or curated. Errands like dry cleaning and occasional pharmacy runs are part of the rhythm, as is coordinating outside vendors - landscapers, repair services - so the household never has to manage the scheduling themselves.
At the daughter's home, you'd spend part of each day providing light housekeeping and pickup support. This family is looking for someone who wants to stay - a transition period alongside the outgoing housekeeper is built in, so you'll have real time to learn both homes before taking full ownership.

- Prior experience in a private household as a housekeeper
- Confident, comfortable home cooking (hearty, everyday meals - not curated cuisine)
- Reliable personal transportation between two residences
- Comfortable working independently with minimal oversight
- Warm, easygoing temperament - this household jokes often and values someone who can meet that energy
- Legally eligible to work in the U.S.

Position Duties & Key Success Factors:
- Maintain consistent, thorough light and deep housekeeping across both residences
- Manage laundry rotation with attention to organization and care
- Prepare meals and breakfast most days, supplementing with delivery as needed
- Run regular errands, including dry cleaning and occasional pharmacy visits
- Coordinate landscaping and repair vendors independently
- Provide daily support at the daughter's home, including light and deep housekeeping
- Build genuine rapport and trust through consistency, warmth, and ease with the household's personality
Other Considerations:
- This is a live-out position, Monday through Friday, with a predictable weekly schedule
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift 20-30 pounds
- Frequent bending, standing, and light stooping
- Ability to move comfortably through a multi-story home
- Ability to drive between two residences
Compensation: $1,500/week ($37.50/hour based on a 40-hour schedule)
