Temporary Laundress/Housekeeper
Private Residence – Annapolis, Maryland
August 2026 | Three Days per Week | $45–$50 per Hour
A private residence in Annapolis, Maryland, is seeking an experienced Laundress/Housekeeper to provide temporary coverage during the month of August while the family's current household employee is on vacation.
The position will consist of approximately three eight-hour days per week. The client is flexible regarding which weekdays are worked and is willing to coordinate a mutually agreeable schedule with the selected candidate.
The primary focus of this position is the expert care of the family's clothing, linens, and household laundry. The ideal candidate will have exceptional ironing and garment-care skills and previous experience working in a fine private home.
Responsibilities
- Manage the family's personal and household laundry
- Expertly iron and press clothing, shirts, linens, and other household items
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and properly organize garments and linens
- Follow garment-care labels and recognize items requiring special handling
- Care for delicate fabrics and high-quality clothing
- Change bed linens and maintain bedrooms as needed
- Assist with general household cleaning and upkeep
- Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient laundry area
- Communicate promptly regarding damaged items, stains, or garments requiring professional care
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a private household laundress or housekeeper
- Strong professional ironing and garment-care skills are essential
- Experience working in a fine private residence
- Knowledge of appropriate care for delicate fabrics, linens, and high-quality clothing
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Reliable, discreet, professional, and trustworthy
