Gardener- Private Household

Position Overview

An ultra-high-net-worth family seeks a skilled, detail-oriented, and dependable Gardener to support the daily upkeep, seasonal care, and overall presentation of a large private estate. This role requires a hands-on professional who takes pride in maintaining pristine grounds, gardens, animal areas, and supporting select household operations in a discreet, service-oriented environment.

Daily Grounds & Property Care

• Perform morning and end-of-day property walks to inspect for debris, maintain cleanliness, and ensure the estate is well presented.
• Remove trash from designated areas and maintain organized storage of tools, equipment, and supplies.

Greenhouse & Garden Maintenance

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the greenhouse and potting areas, including trash removal and floor cleaning.
• Support garden health through mulching, pruning, seasonal bed preparation, soil enrichment, and winterization of sensitive plants, trees, and shrubs.

Animal Care & Enclosure Maintenance

• Feed estate animals and thoroughly clean all enclosures, including greenhouse animals, peacock house, chicken coop, aviary, and Guinea Fowl areas.
• Ensure heating elements, ponds, and electrical systems are functioning properly; reset GFIs as needed and report issues to management.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff to retrieve animal food and release Guinea Fowl when weather permits.

Household & Interior Support

• Retrieve newspapers and packages throughout the day and respond to interior staff requests for assistance.
• Maintain fireplaces as needed, including ash removal and restocking firewood.
• Refill water and beverages in designated interior areas and track inventory for weekly delivery.

Weekly, Seasonal & Equipment Maintenance

• Clean and organize interior and exterior storage areas, hoses, extension cords, trash zones, and garage spaces.
• Maintain streams, gravel driveways, walkways, windows, and exterior features as needed.
• Prepare outdoor furniture, decorative items, vehicles, and equipment for seasonal storage.
• Monitor propane levels and report replenishment needs.

Additional Responsibilities

This position involves a wide range of estate support duties. Additional tasks may be assigned by the Estate Manager or Employer to ensure seamless property operations and presentation. Additional responsibilities as needed
