Butler
Location: Great Neck, NY
Schedule: Full-Time | 5 days on / 2 days off | Approximately 40–50 hours per week
Compensation: $45–$55/hour
Schedule Flexibility: Evenings, weekends, and some holidays required
A private family in Great Neck is seeking an experienced Butler to provide polished, five-star service to the principals and their guests. The ideal candidate is hands-on, highly service-oriented, discreet, and skilled in formal service, wine, cocktails, and luxury household operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive service to the principals and anticipate their daily needs
- Greet family members and guests and provide polished hospitality
- Assist with meal preparation, table setting, serving, and kitchen cleanup
- Provide formal and informal food and beverage service
- Prepare cocktails and provide knowledgeable wine service
- Maintain the wine cellar, bar, cigar collection, Butler’s Pantry, and silver
- Assist with formal entertaining, parties, and household events
- Assist with shopping, deliveries, errands, and household requests
- Help coordinate vehicle maintenance and drive the family as needed
- Assist with pool and cabana setup and service
- Provide occasional pet care, including walking, feeding, and vet visits
- Support the Estate Manager and help oversee household needs in their absence
- Assist other household staff as needed, including with heavier lifting and special cleaning
- Maintain exceptional service and presentation standards throughout the residence
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional Butler experience supporting a high-profile or UHNW household
- Strong formal service and hospitality experience
- Advanced mixology skills, including classic and bespoke cocktails
- Extensive wine and sommelier knowledge, including proper service, storage, and cellar organization
- Knowledge of fine silver, Butler’s Pantry items, museum-quality furnishings, and specialty surfaces
- Polished, professional, and highly discreet
- Proactive with excellent attention to detail
- Strong organization, prioritization, and time-management skills
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a household team
- Flexible with changing schedules, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Valid driver’s license and comfortable driving
- Able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds
