House Manager / Handyman / Property Support

Location: Austin, TX (onsite, 5 days/week)
Compensation: $65K–$75K base + benefits

Overview
A private family is seeking a highly capable, hands-on House Property Manager / Handyman to support the day-to-day operations and upkeep of their Austin residence. This is a dynamic, all-encompassing role ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in maintaining a home to a high standard, and can step in wherever needed to keep things running smoothly.
The right person will bring a strong sense of ownership, practical problem-solving ability, and a proactive mindset. You will be responsible for ensuring the home is always organized, fully functional, and running seamlessly at all times.

Responsibilities

Property & Home Management

  • Oversee the overall condition, organization, and functionality of the home and property
  • Ensure the home is always in order, fully operational, and guest-ready
  • Proactively identify and address maintenance issues (e.g., alarm systems, lighting, general wear and tear)
  • Manage and coordinate all external vendors including gardeners, landscapers, and pool service providers
  • Conduct routine walkthroughs to ensure everything is functioning properly and nothing is overlooked

Vendor & Project Coordination

  • Perform light handyman work including mounting shelves, minor carpentry, fixing household items, touch-ups, and general repairs
  • Troubleshoot issues and “figure it out” independently whenever possible
  • Maintain tools, materials, and basic home maintenance supplies
  • Coordinate outside vendors when specialized work is required
  • Handle errands and day-to-day household needs
  • Manage trash and recycling schedules, ensuring bins go out and are returned appropriately
  • Receive deliveries and oversee general household logistics
  • Assist with setting up the home for guests or small gatherings
  • Keep outdoor areas, patios, and shared spaces clean and presentable
  • Serve as the primary liaison for all property-related vendors and service providers
  • Schedule recurring services and oversee completion of work
  • Assist with small home projects and improvements as needed

Ideal Candidate

  • Prior experience in a similar house manager, estate support, facilities, or handyman role
  • Hands-on skillset with trade knowledge or practical experience (carpentry, basic repairs, home systems)
  • Comfortable building or fixing simple items around a home
  • Naturally resourceful and able to troubleshoot and problem-solve independently
  • Highly reliable, organized, and proactive
  • Discreet, trustworthy, and respectful of a private home environment
  • Positive, team-oriented with a “no task too small” mindset
  • Valid driver’s license and comfortable running errands

Additional Details

  • Full-time, onsite role in Austin
  • Schedule is generally Monday through Friday with flexibility as needed

Occasional weekend availability may be requested for projects or special events
