House Person (Santa Barbara, CA & Sun Valley, ID)

House Person needed (House Manager/Chef Cook/Butler) for single elderly gentleman with dogs; there is no physical care needed.  He has been a client of the agency for many years and is one of our favorites!   He is kind and generous. We have successfully placed someone in this role who is still there and will remain, but he’s also getting older and can’t do everything he has done in the past.  Current locations include Santa Barbara and Sun Valley Idaho (Idaho property is on the market) but will be included in the job description until the sale.

 Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Managing the properties
• Assist with all housekeeping and tidying up between weekly visits from the Housekeeper
• Take care of all laundry and ironing 
• Household organization and projects
• Prepare and cook meals and snacks for the Principal
• Provide serving both formal and informal as needed
• MUST love dogs and assist with their care including walking/exercising (feed, grooming, vet appointments, etc.)
• Will be sole caretaker of dogs when Principal travels.
• Driving Principal as needed
• Travel with Principal as needed
• Be aware of repairs that are needed on property and advise Employer
• Oversee vendors on property
• Maintain inventory lists of all products needed (personal, staples, food, cleaning supplies, etc.)
• Purchases as needed whether online or in person
• Responsible for maintaining cars (gas, wash, maintenance)

This is a full-time position:

• Schedule can vary depending on the week (alternating with current employee)
• Guaranteed 40 hours per week
• 1-2 days off per week will be provided (rotating with another employee)
• Salary commensurate with experience
• Living space provided on both properties

 Requirements:

• Must be an exceptional cook
• Must have verified references in a similar position
• Must LOVE dogs 
• Must be respectful of Principal's privacy
• Valid driver’s license in good standing
• Must pass a thorough background report
• Must be legal to work in this country
• Must be fluent in English language both verbal and written
