A private household in Malibu is seeking an experienced, proactive, and hands-on Houseman / Household Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and readiness of a luxury residence while also providing personal assistance support as needed.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of a property, coordinating vendors, ensuring everything operates seamlessly, and handling a variety of responsibilities with professionalism and discretion. The principals travel frequently, making this an excellent opportunity for an independent self-starter who can confidently manage the estate in their absence.
While household operations are the primary focus, the ideal candidate will also possess strong personal assistant skills, including calendar coordination, errands, communication, and occasional driving support.

Oversee the daily operations and overall readiness of the residence

Coordinate and supervise vendors, contractors, service providers, and routine maintenance

Conduct regular property inspections to ensure the home remains secure, organized, and impeccably maintained

Manage household inventories, supplies, deliveries, and service schedules

Prepare the residence for principal arrivals, guests, and special occasions

Assist with errands including shopping, returns, pharmacy runs, gifting, and other personal requests

Coordinate appointments, reservations, and scheduling while maintaining communication with the family office

Draft emails and assist with routine correspondence as needed

Provide transportation for principals using the family vehicle when requested

Handle special projects and additional responsibilities as they arise

Experience working in luxury private residences, estates, yachts, hospitality, or similar service-focused environments

Previous experience as a Houseman, Household Manager, Estate Assistant, Personal Assistant, Butler, Property Manager, Executive Assistant, or in a comparable role

Strong understanding of residential maintenance, vendor management, and household operations

Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities

Comfortable balancing both hands-on property responsibilities and administrative tasks

Professional communication skills with exceptional discretion and confidentiality

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Fluent English required; Spanish is a plus but not required
