Premier 900-acre private estate in Cornersville, Tennessee, featuring rolling hills, manicured grounds, wooded trails, equestrian and livestock facilities, luxury guest accomodations, and recreational amenities. The estate includes horses, sheep, goats, chickens and a an aviary with parrots, along with a swimming pool, wine cellar and tasting house, pickleball court, guest cabins, barn apartment, and a beautifully converted hayloft office.
This is a privately owned family estate - not a commercial operation or rental property. The property regularly hosts the owners family and guests and is maintained to a consistently polished, guest ready standard year-round.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Private Estate Manager with a strong ranch, agricultural, or large-acreage estate background. This is a working leadership role for someone who is equally comfortable operating equipment, managing property infrastructure, overseeing livestock care and leading a small estate staff.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned estate or ranch professional who understands the expectations of private ownership and luxury property standards while also possessing the practical skills to personally handle day-to-day ranch operations. This person must lead by example, take pride in ownership-level care of the estate, and maintain exceptional attention to detail across all areas of the property.
Key Responsibilities
Estate & Ranch Operations
- Oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and presentation of the entire 900-acre estate.
- Personally assist with and supervise hands-on ranch work including mowing, bush hogging trail clearing, fench repair, landscaping, irrigation, tree removal, and general property upkeep.
- Conduct regular property inspections to proactively identify maintenance or operational needs.
- Ensure all areas of the estate remain clean, organized, safe and guest-ready at all times.
Team Leadership & Staff Oversight
- Lead and supervise the estate staff, including groundskeepers, maintenance personnel, housekeeping staff and outside vendors.
- Establish daily and weekly work priorities while maintaining high standards of accountability and professionalism.
- Coordinate seemlessly with the estate chef and household staff during owner and guest visits.
- Foster a positive, team oriented work environment while maintaining operational efficiency.
Animal & Agricultural Management
- Oversee the care and wellbeing of horses, sheep, goats, chickens, and exotic birds.
- Coordinate feeding schedules, veterinary care, pasture rotation and overall livestock management.
- Maintain barn, paddocks, fencing and animal facilities to high operational standards.
- Previous equestrian or ranch livestock experience strongly preferred.
Estate Facilities & Infrastructure
- Maintain all estate buildings, guest accomodations, recreational facilities,and infrastruction systems.
- Oversee pool maintenance, mechanical systems, generators, utility systems, and ranch equipment.
- Operate and maintain tractors, mowers, UTVs, trailers, chainsaws, and other ranch equipment safely and effectively.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules for vehicles, equipment, and estate systems.
Vendor & Project Management
- Manage estate improvement projects, repairs, seasonal initiatives, and contractor activity.
- Source and oversee vendors while enuring quality workmanship and cost control.
- Maintain organized records for maintenance schedules, service contracts, projects and estate operations.
Guest & Owner Support
- Serve as the primary on-site point person during owner and guest visits.
- Ensure the estate consistenly reflects a warm, polished, first class environment.
- Anticipate needs, respond quickly to issues, and provide a high level of discretion, professionalism and service.
Qualifications
- Significant experience managing a private estate, ranch, farm, equestrian property, or large luxury acreage property.
- Strong hands-on background in ranch operations, land management, equipment operation, and property maintenance.
- Demonstrated ability to lead estate staff and outside contractors effectively.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience operating tractors, loaders, bush hogs, chainsaws, UTVs, trailers, and related ranch equipment.
- Familiarity with livestock and equine care required.
- High level of organization, initiative, and follow-through.
- Professional demeanor with strong communication and hospitality instincts.
- Trustworthy, discreet, dependable and self motivated.
- Comfortable working weekends and adjusting schedules based on estate activity and guest presence.
Schedule & Availability
This is a full-time position with flexibility required based on estate operations and guest schedules. Weekend and holiday availability are expected when the owners or guests are in residence.
Housing
A furnished on-site apartment is available for the Estate Manager if desired. On-site living is optional but considered a significant benefit for candidates seeking a long-term estate management opportunity.
