A warm, established family is seeking a team of at least two/three dedicated Caregivers / Household Managers to provide comprehensive support for a senior couple in their private home, with full 7-day coverage. The household is casual, lived-in, and upper-middle-class in style; candidates should be comfortable in an environment that reflects the family's long history. Candidates with a medical, nursing, or home health aide background who are willing to work in a combined caregiving/household capacity are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and coordinate the couple's daily schedules; ensure appointments, transportation, and support services are arranged in a timely manner. Manage daily household upkeep (dishes, laundry, tidying, light decluttering). A weekly cleaning service is retained for deep cleaning.
• Provide companionship, supervision, and hands-on daily support for the gentleman of the house, who has moderate Alzheimer's. Responsibilities include assistance with daily activities, medication management, and safety. He enjoys daily walks outside and requires accompaniment at all times.
• Provide mobility-related support for the lady of the house, including assistance with putting on shoes, standing, and occasional walking.
• Drive both clients to appointments, social engagements, and errands, using either their vehicle or the candidate's. Neither client drives regularly.
• Handle grocery shopping and daily cooking. One client follows a complex diet (gluten-free, diabetes-friendly, bland, with multiple allergies); the other requires a balanced diet. The household keeps Kosher.
• Ideally the candidates would be comfortable with occasional visits from the family's dogs.
Requirements:
• First-Aid and CPR certification required (tuition assistance for renewal is provided).
• Up to date on all vaccinations, with a commitment to appropriate health and safety procedures for themselves and the clients.
• Medical, nursing, or home health aide background welcomed; experience with elderly care, Alzheimer's/dementia support, and mobility assistance strongly preferred.
• Strictly non-smoking. No perfume or cologne may be worn due to severe allergies in the household.
• Flexible and team-oriented.
Given the 7-day coverage requirement, the family is seeking at least two-three candidates. A combined team of household staff and contracted health aides will also be considered, though a unified team is preferred.
Salary Offered: $40 – $60 per hour, commensurate with experience, division of responsibilities, and live-in / live-out status.
