Full-Time, Live-Out Houseman — Southampton, NY

Year-Round Position | Luxury Estate | 5 Days/Week with Flexibility

Position Summary

A prominent family is seeking an experienced, polished Houseman to support the year-round operations of their Southampton estate. This is a hands-on, service-oriented role requiring exceptional attention to detail, strong physical capability, and the ability to work seamlessly within a professional household team.

The ideal candidate is proactive, discreet, and deeply familiar with Southampton—including local vendors, service providers, and logistics. This individual will support both interior and exterior household needs, ensure the property is maintained to five-star standards, and provide elevated service when the family and guests are in residence.

Schedule & Structure

• Full-time, year-round, live-out
• 5 days per week, with flexibility for evenings/weekends when family is in residence
• Location: Southampton, NY
• Travel: Minimal; only if needed to assist in Palm Beach

Core Responsibilities

• Property Maintenance — Daily walkthroughs, identifying issues, coordinating repairs, and ensuring all systems run smoothly
• Preventive Care — Scheduling and overseeing routine maintenance for HVAC, pool, tennis court, irrigation, lighting, and mechanical systems
• Outdoor Work — Light grounds support including leaf blowing, patio upkeep, furniture care, and maintaining exterior living spaces
• Vehicle Management — Fueling, washing, detailing, scheduling service, and maintaining all household vehicles
• Driving & Transportation — Airport runs, local driving, errands, and guest transport as needed
• Errands & Shopping — Household supply runs, returns, deliveries, and vendor pickups
• Vendor Coordination — Meeting contractors, supervising work, ensuring quality and professionalism
• Event & Guest Support — Assisting the team during entertaining; setup, breakdown, service support, and general hospitality
• Interior Support — Assisting the Executive Housekeeper with tasks requiring lifting, moving furniture, or special projects
• Security Awareness — Monitoring gates, doors, alarms, and general property safety
• Team Collaboration — Working closely with the Executive Housekeeper, Chef, and other staff to ensure seamless household operations

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of experience as a Houseman in a high-end private residence
• Longevity in previous roles is essential
• Strong familiarity with Southampton and surrounding areas
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass criminal, motor vehicle, and sex offender background checks
• Experience supporting large luxury homes preferred
• Fluent in English
