VERSATILE HOUSEKEEPER/WARDROBE MANAGER SOUGHT FOR UHNW HOME IN LONDON

 

Location: Primrose Hill, London

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £50,000-£55,000 per annum, negotiable DOE

Status: Live-out

 

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Housekeeper with strong wardrobe management and garment care expertise to join a warm and welcoming UHNW private household. This is a wonderful opportunity for a professional who takes genuine pride in maintaining beautifully organised spaces and exceptionally high standards throughout the home. The successful candidate will be discreet, proactive and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently while contributing positively within a collaborative household team.

 

The role combines high-level housekeeping with specialist wardrobe care and organisation. The ideal candidate will be confident caring for designer garments and fine fabrics, maintaining meticulously organised wardrobes, and ensuring all areas of the home remain calm, tidy and immaculately presented at all times. The household values attention to detail and consistency, and the successful applicant will take great care in ensuring both the property and personal belongings are maintained to the highest possible standard.

 

Working closely alongside the House Manager, the successful candidate will also support the smooth day-to-day running of the household. This includes hands-on housekeeping and cleaning, as well as tidying up after dinner. The role would suit someone who has previously worked within a high-end private household or luxury hospitality environment and is now seeking a long-term position where they can continue developing their skills and grow within a private household setting. Due to one of the principals have severe allergies to cat and dog hairs, the successful candidate cannot have pets at home.

 

The role is offered on a 45-hour per week basis (excluding lunch breaks) and spread across 5 days per week. Working Monday to Friday, and every other week, Monday to Saturday, with Sunday and one day off during the week, the usual starting time is 12pm, though some flexibility is required to accommodate a later start and finishing time, depending on the family’s schedule. As part of the role, you will be required to travel with the principal from time to time within Europe, usually about 1-2 weeks at a time.

 

DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Maintaining the home to exceptional presentation and cleanliness standards
  • Hoovering, dusting and caring for designated household areas including bedrooms, bathrooms and living spaces
  • Supporting the daily reset of the home to ensure spaces remain tidy, organised and welcoming
  • Maintaining organisation throughout wardrobes, drawers and storage areas
  • Managing all laundry duties including washing, steaming, pressing and folding garments and linens
  • Providing specialist care for delicate garments, designer clothing and fine fabrics
  • Ensuring clothing is returned to the correct wardrobes and storage locations
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient laundry area
  • Monitoring garments for loose buttons, threads or minor repairs
  • Performing basic sewing repairs and identifying garments requiring professional tailoring
  • Packing and preparing wardrobes for travel, including unpacking and reorganising upon return
  • Maintaining organisation of cosmetics, personal care items and accessories
  • Ensuring shoes are clean, paired and stored correctly
  • Assisting with evening household preparation including resetting common areas, turndowns and completing final garment care tasks
  • Supporting the House Manager with maintaining household systems and organisational standards

 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working within UHNW private households
  • Excellent references from previous private household roles
  • Strong housekeeping and wardrobe management experience
  • Confident handling designer garments, delicate fabrics and luxury clothing
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain meticulously organised spaces
  • Strong communication skills with very good spoken and written English
  • Highly discreet, organised and professional approach
  • Ability to work independently while integrating well within an existing household team
  • Reliable, calm and capable of maintaining consistent household standards
  • Non-smoker
  • No pets due to household allergies (dog and cat allergies and client asthma)
  • Energetic and adaptable; able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Right to live and work in the UK
  • Ability and willingness to travel as part of the role when required
