LIVE-IN FAMILY ASSISTANT / HOUSEKEEPER / COOK FOR ACTIVE FAMILY – SANTA MONICA, CA
Our clients, a warm, active family based in Santa Monica, are seeking an experienced Live-In Housekeeper who cooks to become an integral part of their household. This is a wonderful long-term opportunity for a proactive, organized professional who enjoys creating a well-run home, preparing family meals, and supporting a busy family with young children. The family's previous person was with them for several years and became a trusted part of their daily lives. They are hoping to find someone looking for a similar long-term opportunity, someone who genuinely enjoys becoming part of a family's routine while maintaining the highest level of professionalism, discretion, and care.
While the children are at school during the day, the primary focus of this role is keeping the home running smoothly. Childcare responsibilities center around assisting with morning routines, occasional school transportation, and providing support before and after school as needed. The family embraces an active, screen-free lifestyle centered around outdoor adventures, travel, creativity, and quality time together. They are looking for someone who shares those values and enjoys contributing to a positive, welcoming home environment
Responsibilities
Household Management
- Maintain the home to exceptional standards through detailed housekeeping and daily organization
- Complete family laundry, ironing, folding, wardrobe care, and closet organization
- Keep pantries, storage areas, and household systems organized and well maintained
- Grocery shop and maintain household inventory and supplies
- Coordinate deliveries, vendor appointments, and household errand
- Help ensure the home is always guest-ready and running efficiently
Family Cooking
- Prepare daily breakfasts and lunches
- Prepare simple, healthy family dinners
- Assist with meal planning and grocery purchasing
- Maintain a clean, organized kitchen
Family Support
- Assist with morning routines and help get the children ready for school
- Provide school drop-offs and pickups as needed
- Support afternoon routines alongside the family's second childcare prof
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a private home as a Housekeeper - Nanny
- Exceptional housekeeping and household organization skills
- Comfortable preparing healthy, family-style meals
- Warm, trustworthy, proactive, and highly organized
- Enjoys being part of a collaborative family environment while respecting privacy and discretion
- Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record
- Comfortable traveling domestically and internationally
- Spanish-speaking is welcomed but not required
Location: Santa Monica, CA
Schedule:
- Live-In Position
- Monday through Friday
- Approximately 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Occasional evenings, weekends, and travel as needed
Compensation and Benefits
- Approximately $100,000 annually
