Description

Nimble, Organized Family Assistant / Personal Assistant
Austin, Texas | 30 hours/week | $40-$45+/hour DOE (W-2) | Start: ASAP

A private, detail-oriented household in Austin is seeking a proactive, highly organized Family Assistant / Personal Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of their home. This is a long-term opportunity for a capable professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and takes pride in anticipating needs, managing moving pieces, and maintaining a high standard of order behind the scenes.

This household already has established vendors and support in place (housekeeping, landscaping, pool, AV, etc.), but is seeking a trusted right hand to serve as the central point of coordination - ensuring everything runs smoothly, consistently, and to standard.

The ideal candidate is discreet, observant, flexible, and action-oriented - someone who notices what needs attention and handles it without prompting. This role is best suited for a professional who values autonomy, takes initiative, and is comfortable operating in a home where professionalism, boundaries, and respect for privacy are paramount.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Overseeing and coordinating household vendors including scheduling, walkthroughs, and quality control
  • Acting as the “eyes and ears” of the home - proactively identifying maintenance needs and ensuring follow-through
  • Managing errands and personal tasks: grocery shopping, returns, dry cleaning, donations, etc.
  • Supporting light meal prep for family and maintaining household readiness
  • Managing pet care logistics, including grooming appointments, vet visits, and occasional pet sitting during travel
  • Assisting with vehicle maintenance scheduling and coordination for multiple cars
  • Providing occasional transportation support for a school-age child
  • Absorbing and supporting existing personal assistant responsibilities within the household

The Right Fit

  • Naturally proactive - you notice details others miss and take initiative without waiting to be asked
  • Highly organized and systems-minded, with the ability to manage multiple moving parts
  • Discreet, professional, and comfortable maintaining appropriate boundaries in a private home
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to adjust hours occasionally (early mornings, later evenings, or travel support as needed)
  • Low-ego and low-chatter - you are warm, but understand when to step back and allow the household to flow
  • Detail-oriented and takes pride in executing tasks thoroughly and to a high standard

Schedule & Compensation

  • Approximately 30 hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling
  • Hourly rate of $40+/hour, depending on experience
  • Overnights during periods of family travel preferred
  • W-2, long-term position
  • PTO, Sick Time, Holidays
  • Annual Raise
  • Bonus

Additional Notes

This is a progressive, professional household that values discretion, efficiency, and mutual respect. The principals lead full lives and are seeking a trusted partner who can step in, take ownership, and create a sense of calm and order across the home.

The goal is to find someone who integrates seamlessly into the environment - present and supportive, yet unobtrusive.
