Job Description: We are seeking a highly experienced and service-oriented Travelling Butler to support a UHNW family across multiple residences and international locations. This is a dynamic, hands-on role requiring exceptional attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to anticipate the family’s needs while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality and household service.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within UHNW or VIP households and be confident managing both formal and informal service. This position requires flexibility, a proactive approach, and the ability to seamlessly integrate within a fully staffed household, working closely with the Chef, House Manager, and other team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Service & Hospitality
Deliver full food and beverage service, including formal table service, light meals, snacks, and beverages
Prepare cocktails, fresh juices, and hot drinks to a high standard
Oversee table settings, mise en place, and ensure all service areas are impeccably maintained
Work closely with the Chef to plan and present food and beverage offerings throughout the day
Maintain inventory of tableware, linens, and service items, ensuring cleanliness and readiness at all times
Household Support & Organisation
Maintain pristine front and back-of-house areas, including kitchens and dining spaces
Assist with light food preparation, including breakfast and simple dishes
Train and guide junior staff or housekeepers in service standards when required
Manage household inventories, particularly for beverages and service-related items
Support wardrobe organisation, packing, and general household tidiness
Coordination & Communication
Liaise daily with the House Manager, PA, and other staff to ensure smooth household operations
Welcome guests and service providers, ensuring readiness and high service standards
Handle deliveries, maintain inventory records, and ensure proper storage
Travel Support
Travel with the family as required, providing full butler service across all locations
Manage packing and unpacking, including detailed preparation of luggage and essentials
Advance to destinations to set up residences, hotel suites, or villas to the family’s standards
Coordinate with hotels, rental agencies, and local service providers to ensure seamless stays
Provide ongoing support during travel, including shopping, daily organisation, and maintaining household standards
General Duties
Anticipate the family’s needs based on schedules, preferences, weather, and events
Assist with day-to-day requests, errands, and ad hoc tasks
Maintain high levels of discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times
Be confident with household technology, including AV and home management systems
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive gross monthly salary (paid over 12 months)
USD 50 per night per diem when travelling outside of the UAE
Discretionary annual bonus
Home leave allowance of AED 2,500, payable after 12 months of service and annually thereafter
Live-out position (accommodation is not provided)
Visa transfer or application costs covered by the employer
Cigna Category A UAE health insurance, provided after successful completion of a 90-day probation period
Employment under a UAE-based contract and employer of record
Working Schedule & Additional Benefits
Contracted for a 50-hour working week (no overtime paid due to senior salary level)
Flexibility required, with hours determined by the needs of the family/business
2 days off per week (days in lieu provided if unable to take scheduled days off)
Annual leave and public holidays in accordance with UAE labour law
Requirements: Minimum 5+ years of experience working as a Butler within UHNW or VIP private households
Proven experience in formal and informal service, including fine dining, table setting, and beverage service
Strong background in working within fully staffed households, with the ability to collaborate effectively with chefs, house managers, and other staff
Experience travelling with families and supporting multiple residences internationally
Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail and the ability to anticipate needs proactively
Confident in handling packing/unpacking, wardrobe management, and travel preparation to a high standard
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility and discretion
Professional, polished presentation with strong communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of household technology, AV systems, and modern home management tools
Ability to prepare light meals, beverages, and assist with basic kitchen duties when required
Trustworthy, reliable, and able to maintain strict confidentiality at all times
Flexible schedule, including availability to work weekends, travel frequently, and remain on call when needed
Valid passport and ability to travel internationally without restrictions
