Building Superintendent / Facilities Engineer

Position Overview

A private ownership group is seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Building Superintendent / Facilities Engineer to support a portfolio of condominium and apartment residential properties in South Florida.

This is a working role, requiring a proactive professional who takes full ownership of day-to-day building operations, maintenance, and problem resolution. The ideal candidate is technically strong, highly responsive, and comfortable working extended hours to ensure all properties are maintained to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair across building systems
• Oversee and maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building infrastructure
• Respond to service requests and resolve issues quickly and effectively
• Conduct routine inspections to identify and address maintenance needs proactively
• Coordinate and supervise outside vendors and contractors when required
• Ensure all systems are operating efficiently and safely at all times
• Maintain organized logs of maintenance activity, repairs, and ongoing issues
• Support operational needs across multiple units within the portfolio

Work Style & Expectations

• This is a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves role — not a desk position
• Must be available for extended hours, evenings, and weekends as needed
• Expected to be highly responsive and solutions-oriented
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability is critical
• Ability to operate independently with minimal oversight

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years experience in building maintenance, engineering, or superintendent roles
• Strong working knowledge of:

• HVAC systems
• Plumbing systems
• Electrical systems
• General building maintenance

• Experience supporting multi-unit residential properties preferred
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues without constant escalation
• Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
• Valid driver’s license
• Live in SE Florida, prefer Miami Dade area
• Bi-lingual - English & Spanish

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary Range: $150,000 – $180,000 DOE
