Description

 We are seeking a kind, organized, and proactive Full-Time Nanny & Household Manager to support our family and provide attentive care for our two children. This role blends high-quality childcare with light household management and requires someone who is nurturing, reliable, and confident taking initiative. The ideal candidate genuinely enjoys working with children, is comfortable managing a dynamic household, and communicates clearly with parents.

Primary Responsibilities – Childcare

  • Provide kind, patient, and attentive care for two children in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment

  • Demonstrate a genuine desire to work with children, with prior childcare experience required

  • Plan, prepare, and lead age-appropriate educational and recreational activities

  • Prepare and teach lessons as part of a home-schooling curriculum (e.g., math, art, Spanish, and other subjects of interest)

  • Follow, monitor, and independently build daily schedules, including smooth transitions between activities

  • Safely transport children to and from school, activities, and appointments; responsible driving required

  • Prepare nutritious meals and light cooking for the children

  • Clean up after meals and activities in play areas and the kitchen

  • Support children’s emotional, social, and developmental well-being

  • Communicate proactively and clearly with parents regarding schedules, needs, and any concerns

  • Collaborate effectively with another nanny as part of a team-based caregiving approach

Primary Responsibilities – Household Management

  • Proactively manage day-to-day household needs to ensure a well-functioning home

  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and tidiness of children’s spaces and shared common areas

  • Perform light household tasks, including family laundry and changing bedsheets (deep cleaning handled by professional cleaners)

  • Restock household essentials (e.g., pantry items, toiletries, soap dispensers) and assist with basic household upkeep such as changing lightbulbs

  • Plan grocery shopping and manage household and pantry inventory

  • Coordinate family calendars, appointments, and communication with schools and outside activity providers

  • Research, suggest, and help enroll children in new activities and enrichment opportunities

  • Take initiative in managing household responsibilities while exercising sound judgment about when to consult parents before making decisions

Schedule

  • Open to a schedule with modest week-to-week and seasonal variability (school year vs. summer)

  • Availability to work days, nights, and occasional weekends, totaling approximately 40–45 hours per week

  • Willingness to work approximately one overnight per week

  • Ability to travel with the family as needed

Qualifications & Attributes

  • Education in childcare and experience in an educational setting strongly preferred

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills

  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable

  • Proactive and takes initiative while exercising good judgment

  • Tidy, detail-oriented, and organized

  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively as part of a team

  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred
