Housekeeper 

Position Summary: Ensures the luxury estate is clean and orderly to the highest standard while maintaining discretion for the privacy of the family. Responsible for performing a variety of domestic duties, including daily household cleaning and organization, running errands, and laundry upkeep.

Position Responsibilities: 

• Partners with team members to provide area-wide support
• Ensures that the property is maintained to the highest aesthetic and performance standards
• Conducts frequent reviews of the physical surroundings to ensure quality issues are identified and rectified
• Performs museum-quality cleaning with proficiency in special surfaces (wood, glass, leather, furniture, antiques, priceless art, marble, silver, brass, etc.)
• Anticipates and recognizes the needs of the residence and owners with little guidance and oversight
• Makes recommendations to improve and upgrade the level of detail, service, and operational sophistication.
• Work at the direction of the Executive Housekeeper to ensure tasks are completed efficiently, and family preferences are upheld at all times
• Assists in monitoring inventory levels and purchases supplies to maintain household readiness
• Assist with special events including set-up and post event clean-up
• Ongoing interest in the improvement of service, level of care, operational sophistication, and overall experience of the property
• Escorts contractors and vendors while maintaining privacy and security standards

Essential skills and experience: 

• High School Diploma and 5 years’ experience in the cleaning maintenance of luxury establishments; or any combination of education, licensing, specialized training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position
• Proficiency in working with high grade surfaces; wood, leather, furniture, carpet, silver, artwork, antiques
• Exceptional interpersonal communication skills; positive attitude
• Flexibility in working extended hours and weekends as needed
• Ability to demonstrate intuitive service
• Knowledge of general office procedures, administrative support, computer skills, and smartphone proficiency
• Excellent time management skills: ability to organize and coordinate multiple projects with available resources
• Keen attention to detail, honesty, adaptability, dependability, and a willingness to do hands-on work
• Ability to maintain a high level of strict confidentiality and professionalism
• Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record

Valued but not required skills and experience: 

• Private estate/hospitality/museum experience
• Bilingual in English/Spanish

• Work environment: Family home, fast-paced work environment.  Noise level is moderate.
• Travel: Driving of personal vehicle required to various locations. Some domestic travel is required within the US.
• General sign-off: The employee is expected to adhere to and ensure compliance with all relevant OSHA safety regulations for all facility personnel, as well as all company policies, and to act as a role model in the adherence to policies.
