House Manager

| San Francisco, CA, United States

Posted Date 3/05/2026
Description

Our client, based in San Francisco, is looking for an exceptional House Manager to join their household – and this is a role worth getting excited about. The family is warm, grounded, and low-ego, with a collaborative household culture that brings out the best in great people. They are looking for a seasoned professional who is genuinely passionate about private service and ready to build something lasting with a family who will appreciate and respect their work.

The House Manager will serve as the central operational hub of the home – overseeing staff, managing vendors, coordinating family logistics, and proactively building the systems and infrastructure that keep everything running seamlessly. This is a role for someone who takes pride in the craft, leads by example, and finds real satisfaction in a household that hums.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a "get it done" mentality – operationally minded, systems-oriented, warm, and emotionally intelligent. Someone who is calm under pressure, takes full ownership of outcomes, and brings both precision and heart to everything they do.

Schedule & Structure

  • Full-time salaried role, primarily Monday–Friday, 9–5 with flexibility for events and emergencies
  • Primarily onsite with select remote days
  • Must be able to commute to San Francisco daily

Key Responsibilities

Household Operations

  • Full oversight of day-to-day household operations for the primary San Francisco residence
  • Own the household calendar, including personal events, travel scheduling, cleaner schedules, and grocery deliveries
  • Proactively set weekly priorities while remaining agile for reactive problem-solving
  • Build household systems and playbooks from scratch, including a comprehensive house manual and a full household organization system
  • Manage gifting – personal, vendor, and seasonal – or outsource and quality-control accordingly

Staff Management

  • Directly manage and coordinate with household team members and vendors
  • Collaborate regularly with the EP and work admin teams
  • Set staff schedules, own performance conversations, and source and vet temporary replacements when needed
  • Hire and onboard new staff members

Vendor & Property Management

  • Manage existing vendor relationships across cleaning, travel, and real estate, and source new vendors as needed – with full accountability for vetting and quality control
  • Liaise with the family's realtor and assist with an anticipated property search (nearby)
  • Oversee construction, renovation, and interior organization projects at any new property
  • Coordinate property-related administrative matters – insurance, utilities, and real estate logistics – in partnership with the principals

Family & Travel Coordination

  • Work closely with the family's travel agency to plan and execute detailed travel itineraries
  • Coordinate children's schedules, travel, and special occasions (including birthdays and gatherings) in partnership with the nannies
  • Coordinate regularly with security and EP teams, particularly around contractor and vendor property access

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 7+ years of experience in UHNW private households
  • Background supporting clients in the tech industry is a plus!
  • Demonstrated tenure – the family values longevity and stability, with a preference for 4–6 years per role
  • Comfortable working both onsite and remotely as the week requires
  • Discreet, low-ego, and genuinely passionate about private service as a craft
  • Must meet vaccination requirements: flu and COVID
  • Local to the Bay Area
  • Legally authorized to work in the US
