We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and creative Private Chef to support a private residence in Aspen, CO. This full-time role requires exceptional culinary talent, flexibility, and professionalism. The Chef will provide elevated, health-focused cuisine for the Principals, their family, guests, and the household staff.
The Principals are in residence approximately 6 - 8 weeks per year, with additional intermittent family and guest visits. During residence periods, the schedule will shift to accommodate guest needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
Culinary Excellence & Meal Preparation
- Prepare high-quality meals for Principals, family, and guests, tailored to individual tastes, dietary needs, and wellness goals.
- Provide daily staff meals; when the family is not in residence, staff meals are prepared Monday–Friday.
- Develop creative, seasonally inspired menus; adapt menus for dietary restrictions and evolving preferences.
- Maintain consistent variety, nutrition, and presentation standards expected in a UHNW environment.
- Baking experience is preferred.
Kitchen & Operations Management
- Shop for all groceries and supplies; manage food inventory, stock rotation, and pantry organization.
- Oversee the food budget, track spending, and complete expense reports accurately and on time.
- Maintain a pristine kitchen environment, including ovens, refrigerators, freezers, pantries, storage spaces, and all food preparation areas.
- Wash dishes and ensure deep cleaning of all culinary workspaces.
- Uphold strict food-safety, sanitation, and equipment care standards.
Service & Household Collaboration
- Collaborate with the household team to ensure exceptional service.
- Provide feedback and suggestions to the House Manager or Butler regarding culinary or service protocol improvements.
- Maintain a calm, professional, and discreet presence within the home.
- Communicate effectively with household staff; Spanish language skills strongly preferred for coordination with team members.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Private Chef in a high-end or UHNW residence.
- Demonstrated ability to run a kitchen independently and efficiently.
- Strong background in nutrition, specialty diets, and wellness-focused cooking.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Flexible and positive demeanor with the ability to adjust to changing schedules and guest needs.
Schedule
- Full-time role based in Aspen.
- High flexibility is required when the family or guests are in residence (nights, weekends, holidays).
- Regular daytime schedule when the residence is not occupied.
Compensation: The position offers a competitive hourly wage and benefits package:
- Pay Rate: $90,000 - $100,000 per year. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills and experience.
