Part-Time Family Assistant

Overview

A professional family in Noe Valley is seeking a proactive, polished, and physically capable Part-Time Family Assistant to support their three-level home and help maintain daily household flow. The home includes two principals (both working from home), a baby, and a toddler. The family values discretion, strong boundaries, professionalism, and a low-profile presence.

This is a long-term opportunity for a self-starter who naturally notices what needs attention and takes initiative without requiring constant direction.

Schedule

Preferred:
Monday–Friday | 4–5 hours per day
Approximately 20–25 hours per week

Ideal daily window:
Afternoons (within 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM window)

Compensation & Benefits

• $50–$55 per hour (DOE)
• Payroll through APerson
• 3 paid sick days per year

Household Notes

• Three-level home (must be comfortable with stairs)
• No pets
• Street parking only
• Laundry service is used for certain items; delicates and duvet covers are washed in-house
• Groceries are ordered online
• A nanny is employed - the right candidate must be collaborative and team-oriented
• The principals value professionalism and clear boundaries. They are seeking someone warm, someone who understands private home etiquette and works quietly and respectfully while the parents are home.

Responsibilities

Light Housekeeping & Home Maintenance

• Laundry management (coordinating with Rinse, washing/folding/putting away, special attention to delicates (hang dry, ironing, stain removal, etc.))
• Donations and disposal (manage clothing donations, cardboard disposal with vendor)
• Package management (receiving, opening, organizing, processing returns)
• Cleaning (working alongside current cleaner or replacing entirely, paying attention to often overlooked areas such as inside the fridge, microwave, stove, etc)
• Food managed (dispose of old food in fridge, order staple groceries on Instacart, put away)
• Household organization (closets, seasonal rotations, refresh linens and towels)
• Inventory & supplies (restocking household items, toiletries, cleaning products)
• Vendor coordination (scheduling maintenance, repairs, bulk pickups)
• Light errands (post office or UPS for returns, drop-offs, pickups)

Meal Support

• Assist with light dinner prep (washing, chopping, basic prep work)
• Not a full cooking role

Childcare Support

• Occasional support alongside the nanny
• Step in briefly if the nanny needs assistance

Ideal Candidate

• Professional, discreet, and polished
• Self starter who notices where an organizational system would be useful and implements it with feedback from Noor
• Attention to detail in the cleaning and upkeep of the home 
• Speaks strong English
• Self-starter who notices details without being prompted
• Physically fit and comfortable in a three-story home
• Team player who collaborates well with a nanny
• Maintains appropriate boundaries in a work-from-home environment
• Calm, proactive, and emotionally steady
•  Comfortable with street parking

Requirements

• Prior experience in private homes as a Family Assistant or Housekeeper
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Verifiable references
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Non-smoker (No smoking inside or outside of the home)
