Our client, located near Hilton Head Island, SC, is seeking an experienced, long-term live-in Domestic Couple (two employees: Housekeeper and Property Caretaker) to oversee the care and management of their secondary residence. This opportunity is well suited to a couple with strong service fundamentals who enjoy being actively involved in the day-to-day maintenance of a home. Candidates with yachting or hospitality experience are highly preferred, as the role requires a high level of attention to detail, adaptability, and a service-minded approach.
Position Housekeeper
The Housekeeper will be responsible for the full interior care of the residence, ensuring the home is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and organization at all times. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong knowledge of fine home care and laundry practices. Responsibilities include full-charge housekeeping, deep cleaning, laundry and wardrobe care, linen changes, light meal preparation as needed, maintaining household organization, managing cleaning and grocery inventory, assisting with guest readiness, and supporting overall household operations to ensure a polished and welcoming environment.
Position Property Caretaker
The Property Caretaker will oversee the exterior and mechanical upkeep of the property, ensuring all systems and grounds are properly maintained. This role requires a hands-on, proactive individual with experience in general home maintenance, landscaping, and property management. Responsibilities include routine maintenance and minor repairs, coordinating with vendors and service providers, complete lawn and garden care, pool maintenance, vehicle care and valet, pet care for two dogs, handling household errands and shopping, and ensuring the property remains secure and fully operational at all times, particularly when the Principals are not in residence.
Note:
The principals reside in the home on a part-time, seasonal basis, and the role offers a steady, manageable pace during their absence while still requiring consistent attention to detail and upkeep.
Compensation is structured as W-2 employment, in compliance with applicable payroll and tax regulations.
Requirements
• Previous experience working together as a Domestic Couple or in complementary roles preferred
• Hands-on experience in private service, yachting, or hospitality environments strongly preferred
• Excellent references
• Comfortable with full housekeeping, light cooking, and basic property maintenance
• Valid driver’s licenses with clean driving records
