Description

A private family office is seeking an experienced Estate Manager to oversee the operations and care of a luxury residential property in Montecito, California. This position requires a seasoned professional who is comfortable working in a highly discreet environment and can maintain a large property to exceptional standards while operating with a high degree of independence.

The Estate Manager will be responsible for ensuring the estate is consistently maintained in excellent condition and prepared for family use at any time.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and presentation of a private residential estate
  • Manage and coordinate outside vendors, contractors, and service providers
  • Maintain the property to the highest operational standards and ensure readiness at all times
  • Source and evaluate vendor bids, oversee projects, and monitor quality of work
  • Manage property-related budgets, invoices, and approvals in coordination with the family office
  • Provide clear written summaries and recommendations for maintenance, improvements, and projects
  • Maintain detailed documentation and communication regarding approvals and expenditures
  • Anticipate property needs and address issues proactively

Qualifications

  • Significant experience (minimum seven years) managing luxury residential estates or private properties
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a discreet and professional environment
  • Strong vendor management and project oversight skills
  • Excellent written and organizational skills
  • Sound judgment, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to property management
  • High level of discretion and professionalism
  • Bachelor of arts degree required

Additional Information

  • Location: Montecito, California
  • Compensation: $140K - $215K, Commensurate with experience. The family is open to offering housing for the right candidate.

  • Schedule: Generally, Monday through Friday, with flexibility to accommodate the Principals’ schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed
