Description

Full-Time Male Caregiver / Teacher for Teen with Autism (Aspen, Colorado)

We are an entrepreneurial family of four newly located to Aspen, with a 16-year-old son with autism, a 10-year-old daughter, and two dogs. We are looking for an experienced, energetic, and compassionate male caregiver/teacher to support our family — primarily our son — as we get our new lives setup in Aspen.

We come from the world of natural food and are inspired to make the world a better place for all children. We're looking for someone with a sunny positive attitude to be a warm addition to our family unit.

Our preference is for someone already based in Colorado who is open to spending several months in Weston, CT, before our full relocation to Aspen in June 2026 (lodging would be provided in Connecticut). We are open to strong candidates elsewhere who are willing to relocate.

  • Adapt activities to match our son’s interests, sensory needs, and energy levels.

  • Encourage communication, connection, and confidence through positive reinforcement.

  • Communicate openly and regularly with parents about progress, challenges, and observations.

Hours

  • We expect this candidate to be a constant presence in our sons life with typical hours being after school throuh bedtime Monday-Friday with some support on weekends
  • We travel a few times a year (largely around school vacations and holidays) and expect that this candidate will travel with our family to ensure our sons success! (He loves to go to sunny islands!)

Qualifications

  • College degree (required); advanced degree or coursework in OT, PT, Speech, Behavioral Science, or Education preferred.

  • 2–4+ years of experience supporting children or young adults with autism or developmental differences.

  • Strong understanding of autism spectrum profiles and behavioral or sensory strategies.

  • Some light tidying (load and run dishwasher, keep spaces clean, run the garbage to the bin), and simple meal prep in the evenings is expected
  • Willingness to assist with planning and coordinating activities.

  • Flexibility for occasional overnights, weekends, travel, and schedule changes.

  • Live-in arrangement is available for the right candidate.
