HOUSEMAN / GROUNDSMAN AND DRIVER (LIVE-IN REQUIRED)
UHNW private residence is looking for a polished, hands-on Houseman with a strong background in exterior care, driving and vehicle maintenance, and general household support. This role is ideal for someone who takes genuine pride in maintaining a property to the highest standard and enjoys being involved in all aspects of day-to-day operations. Live-in is required, and a private apartment is offered.
This Houseman will take the lead on keeping the exterior of the home consistently pristine, conducting regular walk-throughs, tending to outdoor spaces, and ensuring everything is always guest-ready. The Houseman will also oversee the vehicle fleet, keeping cars serviced, detailed, and fully prepared at all times, while managing trusted vendors across landscaping, pool, and other exterior services.
Inside the home, you’ll provide additional support as needed, assisting with greeting guests, light service, and helping during events. There’s also a hands-on component involving light repairs, general upkeep, and stepping in wherever needed to ensure everything runs smoothly.
The ideal candidate is proactive, capable, and highly detail-oriented, with a natural sense of ownership over their work. Comfortable juggling multiple responsibilities, coordinating vendors, and being a reliable, steady presence on the property. Discretion, professionalism, and a service-minded approach are key. Clean driving record, a team-player mentality and ability to work with other staff members
Requirements
- Prior experience working in a private home or estate setting as a Houseman, Butler, or related
- Strong practical skills and comfort handling day-to-day property needs
- Experience managing vendors and service schedules
- Willingness to assist with light service and guest-facing duties
- Organized, resourceful, and self-directed
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record
- No pet allergies – responsible for caring for family’s animals
- Comfortable around pets and working on a larger property
Location: Will discuss location with serious candidates and provide a relocation allowance
Schedule: Full-time, with flexibility for evenings, weekends or events
Compensation: $85-100k DOE, live-in with a private furnished apartment (including in-unit laundry and outdoor space), medical stipend, paid vacation, and holidays
