We are seeking on behalf of our client, an experienced and service-minded Live-In Housekeeper / Cook to support two principals, with occasional visiting family in residence. This is a live-in position focused on maintaining an organized, efficient, and well-run household environment. Additional housekeepers are employed for deep cleaning and more intensive maintenance, allowing this role to concentrate on daily upkeep, kitchen organization, and cooking.
Schedule & Seasonal Structure:
This role is structured as one of two options:
- Short-term Live-In (East Hampton): May 29th through mid-October
- Permanent Year-Round Live-In May 29th Start (East Hampton & Palm Beach): Summer season based in East Hampton, with winter season relocation to Palm Beach
Candidates open to either structure will be considered, with strong preference for those interested in long-term continuity across both residences. This role is primarily Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend coverage required when the principals are hosting guests. Flexibility is essential during these periods, particularly throughout peak season.
Responsibilities: The Live-In Housekeeper / Cook is responsible for maintaining the daily presentation and order of the household, ensuring all common areas remain tidy and organized. The role includes light daily housekeeping, with a focus on maintaining and keeping the kitchen consistently clean, organized, and fully functional. The candidate will also provide basic, well-executed daily meal preparation for the principals, including simple breakfast, lunch, and dinner service as required. Responsibilities include cooking, pantry organization, kitchen upkeep, and grocery shopping. The ability to follow recipes and maintain a calm, consistent kitchen rhythm is essential. Deep cleaning and heavier housekeeping duties are handled by dedicated housekeepers already employed within both households.
Live-In Arrangement: Private live-in furnished accommodations are provided. The candidate is expected to reside on-site during working periods. Clear downtime will be provided, with an emphasis on balance and sustainability within the live-in structure.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a live-in housekeeper and/or private cook in a private household
- Strong housekeeping skills with emphasis on daily upkeep and organization (not deep cleaning)
- Advanced cooking ability with experience preparing simple, healthy meals
- Silver service and formal serving experience (preferred)
- Ability to maintain discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times
- Highly organized, proactive, and able to work independently without supervision
- Comfortable supporting a multi-residence lifestyle
- Valid Driver’s License
